Just heard back from Todd with GREAT news. I am ordering a second Euro 4 - this one an LX with P/J pickups.

Todd and PJ were very, VERY good about getting what I wanted pushed through.

Matte Steelburst finish (might be the first Euro with this finish)
Maple board
Black hardware

Deposit goes down on the 15th and the 5-6 month wait begins. I'm stoked.

(Now to find a 9V Haz preamp to throw in it!)

This will definitely be the first Euro with the Steelburst finish. We actually had to send a photo to the Czech shop for them to give the okay to reproducing this finish. This is going to KILL!!!

Hey thanks Carey I'd been planning a Coda P bass build with Todd but after playing a fretless for a little bit, I thought it'd be great on a Coda P.

Moving could be a really good thing but starting over can be rough too...sounds like you're ready though.

I've already re-located thrice in my life, I'm no stranger to it. This time round I have a wife and daughter though...

Man, I wish I could help out in your plight. But being so far away, there's not really anything I can do. I feel you on the taxes/toll stuff, Norway is expensive as hell to get anything ove about $20 into the country.

Spector doesn't show specs for pre 2002 NS-2J - just 2002-2009 2J..

Weird that they wouldn't show a complete history on a discontinued model/series since they seem to do it for the others.

Yours sure looks like the series they are showing ('02-'09). How do you know yours is '00 and what would have been the differences (since it looks exactly the same)? The differences in the post '99 models are obvious.

I'll go first.

1. Black with gold Euro LX or Ian Hill. I've played some great Euros, from what I understand. Spector designed these to sound more like the old Kramer era basses. I think a euro would go well with my Forte. Of course a Kramer NS2 or SSD ns4 would do.

2. A jazz type bass. What I really would like is the classic looking Coda Jazz basses that they don't make anymore. I like the classic look with a Spector neck. I would consider a Fender if it was the right one.

3. A ns2o.

I'll never be able to afford all 3 but 1 is realistic.

1. Warwick Thumb NT (just purchased) Love that bubinga and tightness that Warwick has. Waiting on shipping. That will be the one-two punch with my Forte.

2. Really caught interest in Dingwall, either the combustion or super J. The multiscale really intrigues me and I'm curious to see how the fanned frets work and feel... Seems like it would be a huge adjustment.

3. Spector Arc6- can't deny my roots in the 6-string realm.

I wonder what changes took place in '02 to warrant a designation change, and why they don't cop to the series before '02.

Just a Euro 6LX in black cherry stain, no inlays.. Gonna be a beauty. Just waitin' on someone to buy another bass I have out for sale.
