...better pics coming over the weekend!

WOW. Another MM in the club in the same week! A beauty to say the least. Congrats! What pup and preamp does it have?

Reminds me of that old saying about the Ford Model T. You can have any color you want, as long as it's black. :D:bassist:

I dig the Jackson Kellys. I used to have one back in the day. You don't get much more metal than that!

Actually the hidden Spector is yellow (my ReBop) and the Warwick in the middle (now sold) was tobacco brown.

The Jackson guitars are literally all I play. For me nothing is better :) Look metal, sound metal.. :D

Cool space. I see an Ibanez Explorer bass and guitar. :edit: Jackson Explorer looking bass- I need a bigger iPhone screen. :/edit:
The first bass I built in high school wood shop was an Explorer. I made a template from one we had at the music store I worked in. I made it from 2 planks of mahogany laminated together to get the width I needed for the upper rear and lower horn.
Someone out there is rocking an Explorer with a Hondo Roadstar Pbass neck and electronics in natural finish.

It's a Jackson KBX bass. Exactly the same body shape/size as the Kelly above it, just a bass! It's for sale. I never use it. IT's awesome though. Sounds like your wood shop bass was awesome! :D

Cool. Any videos of you playing?

The Explorer I made was actually a mistake. I thought I grabbed a particularly odd selection of 2" thick redwood from the redwood bin. Turns out that one of the other students got lazy and put a slab of mahogany in the redwood bin.

sounded great but an Explorer body made of solid mahogany... Heavy...

I routed the cavity for the electronics from the back so there was no pick guard. starting the handheld router in the front for the pups was interesting... Takes a steady & strong hand.
That was in 82, wish I had pics...

It's about where I'd expect it to be. I've seen used bolt-ons from $1500 and up. If I had the money, I'd seriously consider taking a chance with it!

No doubt! That thing looks awesome, and I think it's a fair price for a USA Spector. I wish I had some extra cash right now.

damn!! That looks great! You really like the OBP-3, eh?

Very cool! My Coda showed up at 3:00pm EST. It was COLD. I took the case outta the packaging and it's currently thawing. I'm not gonna open it up until it's closer to room temp.

Good call! The wait will suck, but the feeling of opening your case and seeing your baby all damaged will be worse, trust me! I'm excited for pictures of this one, too!
