SPECTOR® Club - Part 77

No doubt! That thing looks awesome, and I think it's a fair price for a USA Spector. I wish I had some extra cash right now.

Popped it open - noodled a bit. I have never owned a Fender-style bass, so this is different. It sits higher on me, using the same strap that I use for my NS-4. It's comfy, tho! :D
It's my first bolt-on neck, too. I now have 4 Spectors, and they are SO different from each other. I'm a happy guy. :) ImageUploadedByTalkBass1394231982.705624.jpgImageUploadedByTalkBass1394231996.877148.jpg

Here it is...NS-5H2 #451

...better pics coming over the weekend!

That's just Drop Dead Gorgeous!
I've never had Spector build a custom bass but if I did it would look a lot like yours but with maybe a jazz pickup added all the way up next to the heel. Jazz/MM OBP-3, hmmmmmm now that sounds uniquely interesting.
Love the look of buckeye burl especially in the grey and blue shades. Does the buckeye burl add a lot of weight to the bass? For those of us that have never played or heard a MM equipped Spector - what would you say it sounds closest to, a Stingray, a G&L, a Precision, a Thunderbird, another Spector, ???

Sweet! It takes a day or two to get used to, but its fun to play with the Jazz neck and that pup pre combo. Enjoy my friend! :D

Oh yeah, those are like brand new GHS Boomers, 100 - 45. I know you break a lot of E's, just so you know what those are. LOL

Looks great...but...what color hair are you going to use now, Black or the Tort color? lol

The tort color, of course!
Actually, I just started playing in a punk band. Fender P and J basses were almost exclusively used by punk bands (because they're cheap and commonly found in pawn shops). If I decide to use the Coda for punk shows, I might just have to hit the store for some red mousse…I may go red AND black, for effect! :D

That would ROCK buddy, great idea!

Tony:

Thank you very much for:

1. Prompt shipment
2. EXCELLENT packing job
3. Shipping me a Spector in excellent condition

I was impressed and happy with the Coda when it arrived.
Question: did you screw those square dowels into the compartment in the HSC?

Incidentally, I'm selling my Mesa/Boogie PH115 (400W, 8 ohm) cabinet, to fund another purchase (of course…it's what we do!).
PM me if interested for the "club price". :D

P.S. - It weighs 70 lbs. I'll ship it, but it ain't cheap!

You're very welcome! Glad it made it there safely. No, I received the bass in that case and those dowels were already there. Not sure what the story is with them.

Is there a sub-group for new-build support?
Because I just joined it.

NS-2 Bolt-on P/Js with HAZ
Kramer era neck shave
Ultra Amber gloss, satin neck
BEM fretboard with Black MOP markers
Black hardware

Ordered through Todd (natch), who we all know is THE MAN.
Might show up around club thread 95.

Now that's PIMP! Yours and Mike's rooms take the cake in my opinion. :bassist: AND you have that MicroMark....damn it, I've wanted one for a while now :D

Thanks Omer! Yeah, I Love it in my bassment. When we built the house, the mancave was my #1 priority. LOL

And that little MarkBass Micromark 801 is amazing. I'm currently running the Zoom B3 --> Darkglass B3K --> MicroMark --> Ampeg Micro CL cab on my desk. Both the micro's together are incredibly loud, and the B3 gives me all kinds of amp models and effects. Perfect for what I use it for.

Part III of the pre-production series :bassist: (for those who follow...)
NS-2 Spalt towards the end, some weird bass line :eyebrow:

Back to it. :bassist:

Killer as usual. Anticipation building!!

Congrats. Tick tock. It'll be we'll worth the wait. Like the black hardware choice... Looking forward to seeing that!
