Interesting tid bit of info on the NS 2 vs. ForteSS pickup placement.

NS 2: From the bridge (neck side) to the middle of the P pickup (on the E string) is 3 3/4"
ForteSS: Same spot to the middle of the neck SS pickup is.....3 3/4".

Bit of an optical illusion from the skinny strings P pickup IMO.

It's almost like they placed it there over some harmonic node or something.

I'll be honest, I always thought AJFA was recorded without bass before Jason was with them, because there was absolutely no audible bass. So this video has blown my mind, and also WHAT WERE THEY THINKING it fattens up the sound so well, doesnt sound nearly as tinny and hissy as the album normally is, and he gets some great tone, whoever mixed the album must have hated Jason or something!

And Justice revisited.... it's a great day!!!!

I heard Jason in an interview once say that he approached this record like a Flotsam & Jetsam record, where he was the main songwriter and his basslines were mostly copying the rhythm guitar. It worked in Flotz, but he said James was/is such a great player(I think he said a 5x better player) that he got mixed out. That made some sense and I thought maybe he just wasn't quite tight enough. Listening to this..... what an injustice.... his playing is amazing!

I noticed a limited edition Euro 5 at Bass Central that has battery doors in place. Do you guys know if this is going to be standard equipment on all Euros?

I don't know for sure. But I believe that battery door is due to the EMG electronics in that LE Euro 5. There is no room for the battery in the cavity.

I love, right around the 1:30 mark, they catch a glimpse of the back of the neck of that bass. Either it's been sanded down, or he has played the ever lovin crap out of it,because it looks like bare wood........ Too cool. And that sound is just as nasty, gritty and tone filled as a Spector can get. Love it...

Some cool stuff there for sure. What kind of bass is he playing during "Your Decision"? about 20 min in. I like the tone of the Spectors on the rockin songs, but that one gives you some better sense of what effects he's using in his chain.

I used to play a few AIC songs way back in the day, kinda like in my first band ever.

I also like after the first break (about 32 min in) they finally get a spotlight on the bass player, so you can see that fantastic looking bass!

On that note, I played my ForteSS last night with my cover band that has two loud guitars. It crushed and pushed with a veracity I've never heard before. That bass has major power on tap.

Way go Lee! Smoke those guitars into submission brother!

There can be none more. I messaged him about his current rig (through facebook) this summer and here's a cut and paste of what Mr. Inez said:

I think what you are seeing is the yellow part of the sunburst on the back of the neck. My sunburst is done that same way.
