I'm in awe... It's like an answer to a question I've been waiting to hear for 25 years. And the answer is exactly what I wanted to hear. Finally! :hyper:

Now, it won't play on my iPad, so I have to wait till I get to work to hear the last few tracks.

So that was an NS2 on that whole record?

Ahwww. You just ruined the coolness of a Spector that has just been played beyond all belief. I never understood buying these "new" reliced basses. But a bass that has an "original heavy player wear on it just has MOJO. If that makes any sense.

in all fairness to Todd, I thought I heard him in an interview say it was sanded down. and in this pic it looks like it was sanded down...

That's pretty cool. I'd be interested to know which of those tracks he was actually playing on. Perusing the comments...from the comments by the guy who put it all together:

"In all honesty I took the best sounding "Bass enhanced" songs I could find on this site, and put them together since nobody has compiled them into a "Full Album" yet.. none of them have any real info on them, So I wouldn't know which ones to credit JN for or which ones were added by other players.. I did it as a "What might have been" scenario... And The bass taking away the "tin" sound from the guitars that AJFA is notorious for not only fills out the music, but makes the songs about a million times heavier.. So don't kill the messenger here you guys.. this is simply done to create the first "Full Album" YouTube video for bass enhanced AJFA songs..."

All that said, it's pretty cool to hear an entirely new, bass-focused take on one of those records that I pretty much wore out back in the day, whether it's Jason or not. :bassist:

Wow, those AJFA tracks are awesome with bass. As we al knew they would be. I once thought about recording bass tracks for them myself and putting them up on Youtube, but... Alas. I am a busy man. Which leads me to the point of the day: I am setting up an interview with Alex Webster :) So if anyone has any questions they want me to ask him, send them to me! :)

I would be interested in asking him how many Spector basses he has in his collection, what different models does he like other than his A.W. bass, what brand of strings does he like for performance on the road and is there other brands that he likes using for tone differences.....

If you watch it from this point you can see the neck and it looks like this pic Donny put up. He should just get a NS2 with a matte finish. :D

My bad. From what I saw it looked just like mine with the yellow on the back of the neck from the burst.

Kind of funny, the picture you posted of Mike was taken by a friend of mine Jimmy Fusion. Great photographer. He just did a bunch of photos for Kill Devil Hill as well.

FWIW, When I saw the back of the neck on his bass, I just thought it was faded like the back of my UV's neck.

Sad day, had a problem with the P-Bass Sunday and I had to switch to my NS2 so I could perform. Picked up a loud buzz/hum that would go away only when I touched the strings or the bridge, this was the first time using a strap so my hand was able to be removed from the bass when the noise started...we chased all the cords, tried to ground lift the Para Driver (even if it wasn't plugged in to the building and running with a 9V battery) with no success, they looked at how the in house board was set. Todd helped chase down a ground wire revision which I was hoping to change this evening to match how his bass is wired, but I just recieved an email from Jo Ann that Jimmy thinks that it might be a preamp or pickup issue...so...the P-Bass is going back to Spector for a check up!

It got me thinking, I have no pics of the bass from the back in a full shot. Just that partial. I wanted to show whole look but couldn't. Have to remedy that. :D

I know stories like this really bum the owner (you) out. But, name another builder that you could actually talk to, and have it sent back for a check up. I highly doubt you could get that type of service and/or care from the company named after a car part. I'm not knocking their product, their company started the electric bass industry, but most likely, any big company is going to tell you to go to an authorized repair center. And who knows who's working on your instrument. This P-Bass will go back to the man that set It up and adjusted everything the very first time on it. There's a lot to be said of that type of builder-customer interaction.

Definitely hope it turns out great for you. And knowing Jimmy will personally give it the checkup has got to be comforting in some way.
