I want to thank everyone who has sent me a private message regarding the SpectorHang 2014. I have been putting together some ideas and Todd is checking into motel and dinner locations around Tulsa (good thing he knows the area). The plan is to have this event on August 1 & 2, 2014. The first will be travel day, check in, and we will have a dinner scheduled for around 6:00pm with a members meet & greet (we will try to keep it low key so the travelers can relax) letting everyone communicate and get to know each other and if there is any bartering of used equipment you can use this time as your personal classifieds. The second we will plan for the official SpectorHang spending the day with our basses set up for a show (similar to a car show..lol) letting members who want to check out all of the cool options do so, we will have a care & maintenance program, review electronics program, and something very special during the day! as well as planned breakfast, lunch, and maybe dinner for those who will be in town until August 3. As it gets closer we will have this all lined out a little better and if anyone has suggestions feel free to message me as this is your event, it is for all members so please sign up and enjoy the HANG!

Awesome-sauce!! :bassist:

Thanks for running with this, a thanks less job otherwise. Standing O for Torn, everybody.

Torn Bassist,

Thank you so much for coordinating everything and gathering information from everyone. I can't wait. Even (Gasp) my wife want to come down and see all the basses and listen to some playing. We can't wait.

I really like the tension the DR Lo-Rider strings have, very punchy when you dig in and I use these on my BEM neck NS2. The DR Hi-Beam have a nice sound with a little less tension, I have these on my Fender P-Bass and just put a set on the Coda P-Bass to try out. The Pau Ferro neck NS2 I'm using Ernie Ball Cobalt strings....good luck with your Lo-Riders!

Did you get your Coda P bass back yet or heard from the shop?

Also FYI for anyone coming from Southern California, ABQ is about halfway. If you want to make it two days instead of one 20-21 hour drive. There are several motels a few blocks from my house just off I-40 on the east side of town. Let me know if you need more info. :)

And I thought we had a long drive from Northern Mi. at 17 hours.

If anyone or 2 that live in Mi. or IL. that would like to share a ride we have room for 2 passengers plus luggage & basses. PM me :):bassist:

FYI, guys. I'm putting swampy up for grabs. Euro4 (SN NB0074), new black Spector bridge, new Gotoh tuners. BTS pre running at 18v), Spector hard shell case. Solid tube quilt wings, originally built for NAMM circa '01 or '02.

Figured that I would give the club first dibs. PM for club price. ImageUploadedByTalkBass1395333824.514595.jpg

I just fainted. Good thing I sent that pm right before my syncopal episode.

This was a very exciting time for me and the Coda P-Bass (Celeste), I got to talk with Jimmy twice on the phone plus stayed in contact with him using email. The last I heard was Jimmy found a faulty volume pot and a faulty line comping from the OBP2, he also checked the ground and other misc items....so....the baby is back on the road to me as of Tuesday and I'm excited to get to play it!

WOW, I wanted to see this baby at SpectorHang...WOW
+1 for SpectorHang,

I'm in New Orleans and have a nice comfy SUV with room for 4, luggage and basses, or 6 with nothing LOL, If anyone close to here wants to talk about sharing the ride, i'm certainly open to it :) :bassist:

That is very cool, Vinny from Florida was trying to come so maybe he can travel up to New Orleans and then hang with you for the trip up to Tulsa!

Anything post black album was a dark day for Metallica. I get said every time I think about what a great band they were before they sold out and James started ending every phrase with yeeeaaaahhhhrrrrrr or hhhehh. :bawl:

I cut my proverbial bass teeth on MetallicA.
The 4 horsemen have long since departed this earth. :(
There will never be anything like those first few ever again.
KillEmaLL, Master, Justice, Lightning and the good ol garage days

aaaah the memories... The first time i heard Anesthesia, I think i cried :crying:

Vinny is more than welcome to. I own my business so time off is no problem. I work 80hrs over 7 days, so I really need a wind down trip. Perfect timing!!
I can think of no better place to go on my first vacation since Disneyworld in 07 LOL
