My DR Lo Riders just got here from BSO, can't wait to string my basses up and try these things out!

I have a set of Lo Riders arriving for when my ReBop's done having its neck fixed. I got word yesterday that it should be done in a week or so. :hyper:

I also ordered a set of DR Neons in the Rocksmith colours for my Fender P. :P Just cuz.

Wow. Great price for a piece of history. :D

That can be fixed. :D

I showed it to the guy doing my ReBop repairs & he said that one's relatively easy, compared to some of the headstock splices he's had to do on Gibsons. :P

+1

I would treat that like a refurb project to make it a "glass case" bass. No gigging!!!
FWIW, I'd go with a structural adhesive (urethane, most likely) over wood glue for the repair, so that it never comes apart.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the old Spector Bob Rock used on Metallica's "St Anger" with what Rock described as a "weird triangle pickup" was an NS-1, correct?

Edit: A Google Images search for Scott Smith (original owner of the bass in question) reveals what looks like an NS-1

Got all 3 basses strung up finally with the DR Lo Riders, initial impression is that these strings are going to be really good for drop A, (got .135 .110 .85. 65. .50) looks like the tech I got to set up my blue euro with the .158 circle K strings didn't file down the nut or anything so that explains the problems I was having with the fuzzy low string with the bass. I'd still be interested in trading the OBP-3 for another BTS and a little bit of $ if any bodies interested, the Aguilar is a little too mellow for my band right now and I could use a more aggressive pre at this point.

I really like the tension the DR Lo-Rider strings have, very punchy when you dig in and I use these on my BEM neck NS2. The DR Hi-Beam have a nice sound with a little less tension, I have these on my Fender P-Bass and just put a set on the Coda P-Bass to try out. The Pau Ferro neck NS2 I'm using Ernie Ball Cobalt strings....good luck with your Lo-Riders!

I want to thank everyone who has sent me a private message regarding the SpectorHang 2014. I have been putting together some ideas and Todd is checking into motel and dinner locations around Tulsa (good thing he knows the area). The plan is to have this event on August 1 & 2, 2014. The first will be travel day, check in, and we will have a dinner scheduled for around 6:00pm with a members meet & greet (we will try to keep it low key so the travelers can relax) letting everyone communicate and get to know each other and if there is any bartering of used equipment you can use this time as your personal classifieds. The second we will plan for the official SpectorHang spending the day with our basses set up for a show (similar to a car show..lol) letting members who want to check out all of the cool options do so, we will have a care & maintenance program, review electronics program, and something very special during the day! as well as planned breakfast, lunch, and maybe dinner for those who will be in town until August 3. As it gets closer we will have this all lined out a little better and if anyone has suggestions feel free to message me as this is your event, it is for all members so please sign up and enjoy the HANG!
