What an amazing tone. I think they've said only 4 or 5 of those birds and reverse brids still exist. Maybe in August I can throw enough green backs at Todd to just let me pick it up and play his for 10 minutes.drooldrooldrool
Sam, I was looking to do the same thing with my Euro. Is there a way to run a tone pot for each pup? And if so, what value cap would I need to solder to the pot? I'm not a total expert by any means. But I've been doing a ton of reading up on electronics work for both bass and guitar. V/b/Ptone/Jtone. Is it even possible and again, if so, what would you recommend for the resistor caps?

Thinking of putting a HAZ in my Euro5LE which is already equipped with the EMG BQC. Will the holes need to be reamed out? Just the volume and blend since the other two are stacked pots? Will the cavity need to be enlarged? Thoughts? I'm having Nordstrand custom build a set of L/J Jazz pickups with the aggressive 70's winding and build to accomodate the .66" string spacing.
...if you can make it in bahama blue with quilted surface...or maybe in translucent black with a kind of studded belt design(for Rudi)?

With euro 4s and 4lxs every story I've heard regarding haz installs, and per my experience when one I had put in my burl euro, all that was needed was a slight widening of the holes.
Not sure 100% how the 5LE should work but I'd guess it has the standard Euro cavity route, and in that case it's pretty painless.
Not 100% sure on this myself.
Lee has 2 basses wired this way. With his 2P it has 2 Tones but they aren't completely exclusive to each pickup.
I will speak with him or he will jump in if his Euro4 a LE is wired the same way.
Also another member is getting one today & I think it will also be wired the same.
I think Jimmy said he uses 43 or 58 value resistors.
Yes my 2P and Euro LE are both wired like this. Volume/Blend/Tone/Tone. At first, the idea was to have a separate passive tone for each pickup but in reality it doesn't "completely" work that way. I'll try to explain this the best I can…
If I solo the neck pickup then the pot closest to it is the only one that affects the tone. The one closest to the bridge is unaffected…you can turn it wide open or slam it down and no difference. Same story if I solo the bridge pickup. The back tone control is in charge and nothing out of the neck tone control. It gets a little interesting when both pickups are blended. Both tones split duties and they become "somewhat" redundant. BUT, say I have both pickups at 50/50 and slam the bridge tone control closed. It get very dark and bassy but with the neck tone open it's still fairly bright….if I start bringing that one down it, in essence, takes the tone all the way down.
So there is some interaction between the two but not as I originally conceptualized. Honestly, I'd probably get the same tone options out of just 1 tone control but I loved the tone on my 2P so much I didn't want to mess with the recipe and that's why I had my LE wired the same way. I think if you went with volume/volume rather than a blend you could have true separate tone controls for each pickup but I'm no electronics/wiring expert at all. Me, I just really prefer the blend with master volume.

Did we determine if that was an actual HAZ or a copy? Can't recall.

The HAZ in that NS2O was built in Korea, however unlike the usual 500K dual volume HAZ clones found in the NS2a, it has a 25K blend pot just like the US 9V HAZ preamp found in the Kramer built US NS-2 basses.
Stated differently, that bass will pretty much sound just like a natural wood, oil finished NS-2 of the same era.

Really sounds like a good deal then; a solid refinish, PLEK, etc, would still keep it under the used NS2 price range, more or less.
