What's your opinion on the new US 9V Haz with the dip switches vs. classic 9v HAZ? Are they comparable enough?

I thought about asking the same question. I decided that I was just going to trust that the fine folks at Spector/Korg/Hazlabs wouldn't put a new "Haz" in Spector's flagship unless it was close enough for government work. I'm hoping it's a little more flexible.

This one... gotta tell you folks. My first audition for a metal band. I arrive with my new and shiny USA NS5XL. I think we hadn't started playing yet, and one of the guitarists says: "Why don't you buy a better bass? Doesn't need to be a Fender, Squier are also excellent"

What bridge is that?

It's just a latter Korean Bridge. A short while after I bought it originally someone put a new set of gold hardware in the classifieds, bridge tuners and straplocks. I bought it and swapped it over. The black made the blue too dark. After the swap the color popped better.

I swapped over to a chrome set of Dunlop strap locks when I got it back. Need to order a gold set to go on it.

That's a tough choice, but I think you should put them in the Forte with the Haz

Where did you buy them ? I was looking at those on the EMG site and didn't see any sets that specified a short J pickup.

They are 45DCs, Its a Forte 6. so no P/J set. But check reverb. These were used, I got them for $60ea.

I'm also considering a set of X series pickups. The last time I tried them it was the 707TWX (coil-splittable) for my 7-string guitar. I was unimpressed coming from the regular 707 set. The gain drop was very significant that I had a hard time looking for my Marshall JCM tone again.

Are there no problems like these with the bass pickups? I'm fancying the Victor Wooten PJ set.

I have regular DCs in two USA Spector NS4s, and I have DC x series in two later model USA NS4s. And I can say there is a difference to me. And they have more punch. BTW all four of the Spectors have 18 volt Haz preamps.

Looks like 16.7mm or thereabouts. Converted from 0.66 inches.
