My thoughts exactly. There is a finish crack across the front, the hardware is worn, it's got Barts. The maple actually doesn't bother me, it's not highly figured but it has some character and I dig the color. If I wanted something cool to gig and not be overly concerned about that would be perfect.

Quick question for my Spector aficionados.
I'm considering putting my Legend up for sale tomkrrow. It's matte blk with Bartolinis. Tone pump Jr. I also replaced the J pickup with a humbucking bart as my basement is wicked with rf and wifi noise. My question is should I put it back to stock? It was dead silent in GC prior to switching out the J. If I switch it back it also gives me a J set of vintage Barts. Feedback appreciated. Thank you.

I was thinking the same thing actually. They are great sounding pickups too. Wouldn't mind hanging on to them. Thanks
I noticed that yesterday. Not sure what's up with that one but the body looks so oddly shaped in the standalone pic.
Looks fine in it's case. But it looks very poorly shaped, in the other one. Kinda odd really. Like the wings were just carved wrong.

I think it's just the perspective. Photos look like they were shot at a bit of an angle. Though in the next to last picture the bottom of the body looks a little uneven, sort of egg-shaped.
But see here, sonny, that there is a giiiinuine Stuart Spector build, not one o' them flimsy, shoddy ole Korg builds, so it just can't have been carved wrong. Maybe you oughta stop drinkin so early!

Possibly. Or this is just a stark reminder that the wings and upper/lower horns are generally hand carved, and aren't consistent.

So a short project lasted way longer than expected. Quick synopsis. Wanted a Spector similar to Mike Inez's custom Streamers with his single Fishman Fluency pickup in it. Furthermore, needed to be 35" scale 4 string for tuning down (please note, this was all before the fanned fret model came out that I could have plugged the Inez into in place of the stock neck pickup).
Anyway, bought a used Euro 435LX. Had the routes filled, and then rerouted for the single Inez pickup. At this point, sent it off to Sims Custom Shop Guitar Refinishing in Chattanooga, TN. Paid and was told 14 weeks turnaround. Long story short, it took 14 MONTHS, I was lied to over and over, and only when threatening legal action and calling the TN AG did he suddenly have it done. To further the story, he did a crappy job. Reviews showed lots of people in the last 2 years in my boat waiting months to over a year for their guitar. The sad part on mine is he did it super quickly I think and did substandard work. Spots not filled, sprayed it where the top was not smooth (I mean, let me know it needs advance prep and maybe I'd have paid more, etc. etc. etc.). It looks good from 6', but up close it has a lot of spots left to be desired (including a spot or two where he couldn't even be bothered to spray some filler). This is not just my dumb customer opinion. The professional repair shop here that put it all together agrees 100% with me.
All that being said is it is back together, sounds badass, and can't wait to test it at rehearsal next week. The paint issues won't be seen on stage or from a distance at least. At some point, I'll likely get someone that is not a complete asshat to properly prep it and repaint it. Until then, gonna have fun with it.

Sorry to hear about that experience. Hope you didn't end up paying a whole lot for such poor work/customer service. Glad you're happy with the sound. Fishman pickups sound pretty good, don't think I've heard the Inez ones though.

To my ear, the Inez is its own beast. Two settings. Turbo P bass and then the "Inez" Spector/Streamer sound he gets.
Yeah, I paid full price for this shoddy work. Sad part is it seemed like a solid price.
It was such an ugly spalt, I did not feel bad cutting it and painting it.
