How do you stop buying Spectors?!

"Well, I have an NS-1 on order, maybe I should get a Euro to tide me over..."

You don't. I picked up my first U.S. build at the UPS hub (not waiting that extra 6 hours) and was mentally planning my next build on the ride home.(mentally, because my wife was with me…)
In between the order and delivery, I bought 3 more. I repeat. You don't.

3100 for a special Wide 5 Forte is a fantastic deal. Someone was just saying the other day they wanted a Wide 5 Forte.
It kind of blew my mind that it was made for Bryan Beller. The reason is because 99% of the time when someone mentions a bassist/band on TB I have no idea who they're talking about. This time I knew so it made me feel kinda good

Being married. :D
I chuckled at that .

Hey, I'm married! The important thing is to have a wife who respects your choices. And one who also works and you should NEVER question how she spends her own money.

You also have to be responsible and make sure bills are getting paid and you're also saving for retirement, emergencies, etc.

And also be kind, considerate, gentle, and loving. That will keep them off your back! :D

No, really, just use this line every time:

"How much did it cost? You wouldn't believe it! The guy/store practically gave it away! It was a steal! It was - wait, did you go to the salon? No? Is that a new dress? No? You look stunning... Come here..."

Then you make this face:  You know what to do next. 3 minutes later, you're enjoying your brand new bass!

Good times.

How do you like the P in the soapbar shell? Does it add some mids compared to having a DC there? How do you blend it with the bridge? I've considered getting one.

I like it! I will admit that the undiagnosed OCD is why I haven't ever had a 5-string with a real "P" pickup, LOL! The asymmetrical layout just messes with me, so getting the reverse P in the DC shell is a little slice of heaven. I was running the pickups equally when it had DCs, but now I blend it more to the neck position. Yeah, there's a bit more mid content with the 40P as opposed to the DC. Sounds like more mid-Mids to me, which seems to give it a wee bit more of that classic Spector "throatiness".

Is it a game changer? I really don't feel like it is, but it sounds a bit closer to my NS-2, which was my main goal. I still recommend doing it because it's definitely NOT going to sound worse...;)
