So I've really been enjoying the TonePump in my new-to-me Euro5LX w/EMG DCs. I'm curious, though, about using a TonePump in a project bass I have with SD Basslines Passive Soapbars. I was previously considering an EMG BTC for that bass (which I have, but not installed). However, I think I may put in a TonePump and then eventually a set of EMG40TWs.

So, are there any issues with mixing the TonePump with passive pickups, i.e. is the TonePump's input impedance high enough for passive pickups?

I'm really, really digging the Spector. It needs a good fret level, but for what I paid and the condition it's otherwise in, it's an amazing bass.

Quick question for the other legend owners;
What exactly are the specs for the tonepump jr?
Since the regular tonepump is boost/cut (+14 -4 Db for bass and +12 -12 for treble iirc) is the tonepump jr. The same? I looked on Spector's site and ran a search here but didn't find much.
I'm recording a bass track for a friend's project and I'm curious as to some of your guys's preferred settings. When you record with everything on the bass all the way up, do you find this produces a 'scooped' tone?

After my Dad died, I put most of those funds in my house, which I no longer have. I did treat myself to something nice-this bass. I liked the way it sounded, played, looked, but for some reason, I thought I needed something else. I traded it to an online used gear store for another bass. I just happened to be browsing the Spector Club a few parts back, when a guy posted about his new bass. I politely asked that if he ever sold it, to please let me have first dibs. He said he loved it, and didn't think he would sell it, but he would certainly let me know. I suspected that was the end of the line.

Then, on Fathers' Day weekend no less, he messages me that he wants to sell...I scrounged up money as best I could, and got her back. After all this time, I'm sitting here wondering......what was I thinking getting rid of this?!? It plays awesome, has that signature Spector growl, and looks amazing. That would be enough on its own, but the sentimental value trumps it all.

Thought I would share, and ask for a club number. I am profoundly thankful to have this bass back in my life. Spectors rule!

I have had one Spector before. It was a Euro 5LX I bought on craigslist for $300. The preamp was totally blown and at the time I didn't have money to fix it up, so I sold it to user on TB. I don't know what ever came of that bass though, but it felt amazing!

I had my wife drop it off at this nice place that SPECTOR uses to box up and ship basses (when they come home from NAMM to my place for photos they don't have shipping boxes to get them back to NY).
They will be sending me the tracking # soon and I'll get that right to you.
You're going to love this bass! :bassist:

So, after work I plugged my new-to-me Ian Hill SPECTOR straight into the AUX input on my Kenwood stereo in my truck to see if I could play thru my 12" subs...

It worked!:hyper:
Even though it was naked (no effects, preamp or EQ) I was diggin it and the sound so much that I sat in the P/lot and just played...
for 2 hours....:bassist::cool::bassist:

I have nickel residue on all 4 fingers on my left hand and 3 fingers on my right...:cool:
This bass is AWWWWWESOOOOOOOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!:bassist:
If y'all get a chance to buy one... BUY IT! :hyper:

Pics.... Ugh... I guess I could have wiped the 2 hours of finger prints off first....:o
