Yes I use the Dunlop neck cleaner condioner.... it's s two step, two bottle system. I also use the formula 65 body Polish and wax

That's cool! We are just 15 miles south of the Mackinaw bridge. I never get tired of mackinaw island with no cars. The manure smell doesn't bother me since I grew up around farm animals.

Yeah. After a few days it was definitely less noticeable. Other than the beautiful scenery my favorite part was the fudge. I can see why the Island is famous for it!

You have to be careful. I put in the dimensions and weight of the Euro4LX I just shipped. The online quotes for both fedex and ups were between $45-$50.... I get to the fedex office... $110!!!! UPS was$95. So I don't think the online quotes are accurate.

The same fudge stores at the island are all over here too...as locals we get tired of the fudge. Lol

I don't know why & how you guys are paying so much for shipping??? I never pay more than $40.00-50.00 thru FedEx Ground. :ninja:

I heard the drop off locations charge more if you create and pay for the shipment there vs. if you pre-pay online and print the label. But I dont know about double....wow. The quotes I get from UPS.com are usually more then the price I actually pay for shipping when I sold something and use the Paypal discount.

I go to the FedEx shipping place at the airport that's only 3 miles from my home. It's actually a FedEx air shipping facility but FedEx Ground picks up there also. I didn't find out about the latter until after shipping air there for a year. They didn't offer up the info readily.

Also, UPS "Stores" are more expensive than the same package taken to an actual UPS location/customer counter.

I've found the UPS and FedEx stores in my area to be pretty much exactly the same price as the nearby huns. I also never pay over $50 or so to ship a fully loaded bass w/ hardcase in a box the size being discussed (usually 30-35 lbs. or so), but I'm also located in the middle of the country and not sending things coast to coast.

I don't think you understand what I am saying. As an example, here is the song "Lifer" by Down.

The song is tuned C#, F#, B, E and the main riff that Rex is playing is the open C# on the 4th string to the 7th fret on the 3rd string which is the octave. Playing it that way is much easier and cleaner than playing the C# at the 3rd fret of the B string (in standard BEADG tuning) and playing the octave at the 4th fret of the A string. Sure, it can be played that way but at that consistent speed of the song, it won't sound as clean I wouldn't think.

DieChris' statement is dead on when he said this in a previous response:

If you're playing a lot of open notes I would just recommend tuning it to open instead of fretting a C on a B string... just make it C. Most people who are against drop tuning dont get how inconvenient fretting a C is when jumping around the fretboard.

Too bad I have an insane job that works me crazy hours or I could make this a whole traveling Spector club trip :) Next time LimaGuy and I get together, we should take video or something to show the details but then it would let everyone see how terrible of a player I am, haha.

Shipping can be strange. With FedEx (and possibly with UPS) it helps if you have an account. I noticed a considerable drop in price quote for shipping after I opened an account. From almost $50 to $35 - same weight, dimensions, location etc.

Better be one day soon. This is a one-of-a-kind NS-2. Stuart made two, an NS-2 and an NS-4. They are marked 1 of 2 and 2 of 2 for serial numbers, which on an NS-2 is also a first. NS-2's are now into the mid-700's for normal serial numbers.

Once this one is gone, it's gone. And as a collector's bass, it's a beauty. Not sure about how it sounds with the Wenge neck.

I almost bought this one from Beaver but went with a stock traditional NS-2. I wanted a bass I could play every day. And it'll be my main player.

He already does. Currently I have 4 basses and 1 USA ARC6 electric guitar.

Once the NS-2JA-R sells (I'm about to mark the price down, BTW) then I'll be down to 3.

Of course I have two NS-2's coming.

"The Black Pearl" which is a one-of-kind and won't get played much, and my stock NS-2 from Bass Central... which will be my everyday bass.

I'm retiring my Water Cured Redwood NS-4... just won't be playing it as much, less wear and tear. And I'll have my Euro4LX-TW-35 BEAD... then the NS-2A Fretless.

I'm not counting the Alex Signature I've got ordered because it's going to be a wall decoration. Remove the batteries, seal it up inside a frame and that's where it will stay.

Honestly, I'm going to add one new custom, very rare, bass to my collection each year from here on out.

My BC NS-2 will be the one bass that gets played every day. The rest will be for when I need or want that sort of a sound profile.
