Didn't Gene Simmons play a Spector in the 80's???

Through the late 1970's all the way into the early 1990's.

He played a modified SB-1 back in the 1970's and early 1980's. He auctioned it off a few years ago and got $35,000 for it. He had blinged it out with metal studs, etc...

He played several custom Kramer NS-2 models all through the "Kiss Unmasked" years. He had a candy able red NS-2 with all black hardware and a white NS-2J. He also had a stock gloss black NS-2.

He talked to Stuart in the mid 1990's about doing a signature guitar but nothing every happened, basically Gene was given offers from Cort that included silly amounts of money and Stuart doesn't pay people to play his guitars, even Gene Simmons. So Gene did what Gene does and followed the money.

Not to bash gene or anything. I'm a pretty big kiss fan.

Kind of sad. Gene does look pretty bad @$$ rocking spectors in those old music videos.

Better be one day soon. This is a one-of-a-kind NS-2. Stuart made two, an NS-2 and an NS-4. They are marked 1 of 2 and 2 of 2 for serial numbers, which on an NS-2 is also a first. NS-2's are now into the mid-700's for normal serial numbers.

Once this one is gone, it's gone. And as a collector's bass, it's a beauty. Not sure about how it sounds with the Wenge neck.

I almost bought this one from Beaver but went with a stock traditional NS-2. I wanted a bass I could play every day. And it'll be my main player.

IF, I get this particular NS-2 - it will really be for my 'museum'. I proabably couldn't justify gigging it. Man, I have GAS.

I don't know why & how you guys are paying so much for shipping??? I never pay more than $40.00-50.00 thru FedEx Ground.

After I refreshed the page and re-entered the info it came out to 28.00 each...
The first time it was adding 50.00 for over dimensional plus insurance...
I have not ever had them charge more than the quote, though.
I do have an account, I pay online, and I usually do the "drop off at FedEx location" thing (no extra charge).

The Ian Hill neck is insanely fast!!! The string action can be set soooo low that it practically plays it's self! Unbelievable Bass! Now that I added more fuel to your GAS... I'm with Trace when he said if you ever wanted an Ian Hill, buy it now!
The NS-5 Watercured Redwood on BC is on my BIG wish list. Sigh!
Hoping by this time next year I'll be adding either a Coda 4 or Forte 5 to my stable.

1999 Spector NS4CRFM (made in the Czech Republic) "transition" bass. All original except for the Gotoh tuners with drop tuning. PJ said he would guess that less than 100 were made. It has active emg pickups with the emg bt preamp

That was New Jersey native Greg Felise. The F word is a noun, verb and adjective for the guy.

Definitely NOT me. I was in professionalism mode at NAMM. Greg is always Greg. And I joked with him about suing the Jersey Shore guys for stealing his persona and turning it into a show.

LOL. He's a great guy, straight-shooter, and is a SPECTOR Artist and his family has known Stuart since Greg was a little boy. So he's always been a loyal SPECTOR guy and has helped work the booth for over 10 years now.

Yes. Gene actually had several SB-1 models. I think he still has one and I know of two that were sold. The Ebay one and another that is in a private collection.

Yeah. It'd be nice to think that he's that "cool" of a guy. But really he's a hard-nosed business-man who does things that will only benefit himself and his cash-flow.

I'm not hating on the guy. He is who he is and it works for him. But he's not a "warm and fuzzy" sort of guy and he cares about his fans in the way a bee keeper cares about bees. They produce the honey for him and that's fine, but he'll always keep himself removed from them and he doesn't mind loosing some here and there if it suits his needs.

He'll never give anything away.

Thanks! It's in excellent condition with the exception of a few small dings and buckle rash. I've owned it for only about a month, but I love it!

I know exactly how he is, I know he would never give something away...thats why I said I would bring the bass to every Spector club member to play.

JPS, I sent you an email the other day regarding upgrading my ReBop with EMG 35DC's. There is a pair going for a great price on ebay. Would these fit in without any modifications? Besides the 500K volume pots being changed to 25K pots
