Trace,
I know you are in Ian Hill mode, but seeing the NS-2J again, It really is amazing the job you did on fixing her up. :D

Maybe Spector can start a new limited edition model with "burnt wood" and call it the Spector Trace ;)

Those looked to me like bubbles in the finish and not bracelet rash.
Yep, they do but, they are tiny little dings. You can feel them.

Several posts up they said it was bracelet rash from the namm show .

Also I've done that very same thing .

Thumb ring will also cause some weird line cracks ... So don't slap with a thumb ring on .....
Yep. The Previous owner bought it that way at NAMM when it was a DEMO.
Some people just have no consideration, huh?
It's like getting in someones car with a screwdriver in your back pocket, knowing it's there and poking a hole in the seat anyway. :(

Thanks Lima. :)
It's a good player even though I have yet to finish. It needs a new nut but the Legend nut is too tall and I shaved the I have down just a tad too far...
Any one know what the string heights are at the first fret on an NS-2/4 or Euro 4? :help:

I doubt SPECTOR would do that unless I was an Endorser, maybe call it a "SPECTOR NS-Tracer" :D

I still need to sell the Legend, though. If someone made a seriously decent offer, I'd probably take it...
I heard someone say they sold theirs and wanted to get another...

I know exactly how he is, ;) I know he would never give something away...thats why I said I would bring the bass to every Spector club member to play. :D

I know someone, who will remain unidentified, who worked on his TV show. They say he's a control freak (no surprise) and that a bunch of the show was absolutely scripted. Oh well. I've never seen it. Family Jewels...

JPS, I sent you an email the other day regarding upgrading my ReBop with EMG 35DC's. There is a pair going for a great price on ebay. Would these fit in without any modifications? Besides the 500K volume pots being changed to 25K pots

Sorry bro! It must have gotten lost in the mix. 35DC EMGs should fit fine. They should be the same size as the EMG HZ... you can double-check the EMG site. They should have the dimensions. Yes... you'll need to change the pots out. Cool. I say go for it.

Hey! Just found out some history on my Ian Hill from Adam on Bass (formerly of Firkinah Souls)....

JPS.. you may remember this one....

He originally bought it from SPECTOR® as he is an Endorser.
"it was a "NAMM demo" that got jacked at the show, the bracelet marks."

It has some blemishes in the finish above the P pup but, not very noticeable and I don't mind... has MOJO! :eyebrow::cool:
He installed the EMG BQC after he bought it.
Killer sound with stacked Treble/Bass, stacked Hi & Low Mids, controls!

We had an Ian Hill at this year's show. Is this it? It seems like someone did get it and leave early (before the show was over)... but I can't remember... man. They chunked up that finish. A lot of stage-performers do though. Buckle rash and other bangs and dents. Comes with the touring territory.

Was this bass from NAMM 2011?

It might be from 2011... aside from the blemishes/dings above the pup, there is hardly any wear on it, no buckle rash, fret wear, or anything like that. It really looks new.
Adam on Bass (Adam Phillips) bought it new from NAMM. He did a lot of work in Hollywood in the 90's, then to Oregon to help form Firkinah Souls. Then moved to Arizona, I guess.
He is a SPECTOR artist/endorser.

Man. You and beating dead horses... must be a Las Vegas thing. LOL.
:ninja:
I really hate when I have to point out the joke.....:hmm:

A "dead horse" is when you no longer have valid points.
The facts that Spector is still (ever so slowly) working on it and others still discuss it proves otherwise.
However, this was clearly (maybe not :eyebrow:) a joke at the expense of our exchanges about said bridge.
Iceboxbass got it. I'll send you his number. :p

Careful. If you haven't noticed there are a few of us TB/Spector guys here in Sin City. :smug:

+1 The more I see that bass the more it grows on me.

Trace...AJ will have the string height dimensions. He has a manual that has all manufactures nut dimension and everything needed to build that nut.

Hey everyone.
Well i've been a bit busy on my Spector Story (still not finished though...)

Also, working on some new music. Not sure if this one will end up on my solo album or become an Icarus Effect track.

Just wanted to share with you guys to see what you think. I'm trying to roll with only using one track of bass to see how good of a tone i can get instead of using 3 like i normally do. Hope you guys like it.

Hi Patrick, whats the scoop on the new ns2? If you have some update photos could you please post them? Been a shortage of usa Spectors photos recently. Sure could use some new Spector porn:D

Very nice track giant! IMHO...I'd like to hear either just a little more lower end "Growl" or maybe more mids growl? It seems that the bass is just not quit punching thru enough with more aggressive punch? Anyways...that's only my unprofessional 2cents worth. I love that track though! Keep it up! Thank you for sharing!

:hmm: USA NS' not in the limelight lately:confused: Maybe because, I remember a few pages back, JPS saying Euro's are the high sellers right now?
Time for some "NEW" USA NS pics! :bassist: Some day I'll be able to post a USA NS pic...some day. :D

Really like the track :bassist:
and I like the bass tone

I am one of these guys who puts the bass louder then usual in my mixes. (think Police songs)
Can you boost the bottom end a bit and keep the same volume or just boost the volume?
I would like to hear a comparison to this mix.

Are you are playing the guitar tracks on this also?
