Also took all the stickers and badges off my red Rex . I need some standard knobs . May take off the inlay stickers and put some dr black beauts on her or maybe some red devils . May keep the ernie's on it ... But alas I'm keeping the red and trading the holoflash . The holoflash is in excellent condition and the red is road worn ...

Man! A spider bite in the ankle is just about the same situation. Almost lost my leg. :scowl:
That thought did enter my mind when I found out what it was as I know someone who lost a finger to staph. Plus this is on my upper right thigh so if things had gone really bad it would have been my whole leg gone.

My Spector 6 is way too heavy for just one leg. :p

Question for all you guys.

I'm hoping that my Spector from JPSbassist will be here Friday. I'm sure if there are any other midwest bassist's on here, you know that there is a ridiculous heatwave here. It about mid 90's with plenty of humidity. Heat index has been anywhere form 100-115 the last 2 weeks. Usually UPS and Fedex bring stuff around 4 to my house, and I have to be at a hot outdoor gig at 5 on Friday. Should I worry about the bass being exposed to a lot of heat during shipping, and then putting it through a hot 4-hour show Friday night? The show is a on a riverfront so it will somewhat cooler, and we don't start till 7PM, so we get to play through sunset, so it will cool off nicely by the time we finish the show that night.

No worries - it'll be fine.

Ok i know you guys are sick of me posting mixes by now haha!

Last one i promise. I made a bit more space for the bass to cut through in the mids some and eq'd the guitars a bit differently as well. Hope you guys enjoy! Promise to be the last one as well. LOL!

You captured the sound most excellently!!! I can now hear the Spector growl perfectly blended!

Man, glad everyone is doing good :), lots of problems with this bunch.

I am thinking if we can prove the healing power of Spector Basses (Think of me talking in a southern preacher's voice) maybe we can convince our insurance companies for the need to buy us each a USA ns-2 (For medical reasons...:hiding:)

Or if that doesn't work, you would think with all the medical bills from the Spector forum we could pull some kind of insurance fraud and get each of us a new NS-2! :ninja:

JPS can be our "Medical Liaison" to Dr. Stewart Spector.
Hey! Great idea! I'm onboard and in line at the Spector Pharmacy! :bassist:

Nice red Rex! I like the holoFlash better!

Is is possible to re-clear a bass without totally stripping it ??? My red red has surface scratches all over the top . I would like to scuff it up and re-clear the body .
You may want to try to work the scratches out with some buffing compound or polish. Meguiars has a fine cut polish that should work well. Although an orbital polisher would work better, application by hand will work (just takes longer). ;)

This sounds great! sorry I'm late to the party, in the middle of nowhere, the "internet access" isn't always the greatest...

Is this your euro Spector? do you use (I see on your signature you use SWR Stuff) your SWR stuff or record direct?
You probably have answered this already, if you have sorry.

Hey guys. I've had this Spector Legend Classic for about 10 months now and I'm an absolute believer of Spector. My second bass I've owned and not planning on buying another bass for a long while. But I am thinking about upgrade the pickups and the preamp/tone circuit soon and Im not really sure what I should go with for either. EMG pickups definitely but not sure what kind and for the preamps either. Any advice would be nice.

Thank you Guys,
Koot

You could always put the TonePump preamp in that is used in the Euro's. They sell them on the Spector site for very cheap but I am not sure how much of an upgrade it would be to the Tonepump Jr. you have now. There is also the EMG BQC system that is listed as an option for the Euro's. That uses a blend knob as opposed to a separate volume control for each pickup like the Tonepump has and also has a 3 band EQ.

For pickups, you could do either the EMG TW pickups that are used in the Euro's or you could go with the EMG DC's like the older Euro's. The difference is the TW's allow you to go into single coil mode by pulling out the knob but I believe that only works with the TonePump. There are probably many more options but those are the ones that I am the most familiar with so others can chime in with more.

No problem chrisloe! Always happy to answer any questions. :)

Yes this is my Euro Spector tuned to drop C. I run my guitar and basses straight into my Axe Fx Ultra for all my guitar and bass tones. Normally i sometimes combine 3 tracks of bass, but on this track it is just one track of bass. I have used my SWR stuff in the past for recording, but i have been able to get WAY BETTER bass tones just using the Axe Fx.

Thanks again for checking out the track!
