Isn't it true you can wire any bass for Vol/Vol or Vol/Blend (assuming you have the right pots) regardless of the tone circuit?

I'd really like to mod my Euro 5LX for Vol/Blend. It has a definite sweet spot in the pickup balance, and right now I'm using a volume pedal to bring it up and down without disturbing that balance. A Vol/Blend would be so much better :)

The blend pot on one of my basses is a duplex potentiometer - two wiper circuits on one shaft. Wire one pickup to each wiper, and then the volume between the output lug and the jack. There are plenty of wiring diagrams on the 'net to guide you.

The part runs in the neighborhood of $15. So long as you can read a diagram and run a soldering iron, you're GTG.

The pots are mounted directly to the circuit board. I'm not sure how difficult it would be to change it to vol/blend....

That's a different matter. Probably not an easy change-out.

Even if you could bypass the pickup inputs to the board, there wouldn't be enough room for the new pot with the board in place.

Were the pots on ribbon-wire, it might be do-able: run the pickups to the blend pot, and the output from there to the circuit board input that matches the remaining volume pot. It would mean modifying all the pots to take them off the board and run jumpers between the board and the lugs. Ugly.

Hey guys, so I'm working up the Wooten arrangement of Amazing Grace, and I decided to record myself so I could hear it back. Since I just sold my audio interface, I had to do it through my webcam, and then I went ahead and threw it on youtube. I'm curious to hear any feedback from you guys.

I did, I messed with it for a while before I decided to switch it out for the USA Hazlab. When I first got the bass, it was so hot it would distort anything I plugged it into. When I opened it up, the trim was set to around 75 %. I turned it down to 50%, still too much for some things I would plug into, then down to about 25-30 %, which seemed to work pretty well, but I really like the sound of the Hazlab so far. Like I said before, really haven't had much time with it yet.
