It looks like someone wanted it to look like a Warwick finish. It may just be the photos, but dosent it appear not to have the full curve near the knobs?
Maybe during the sanding down?

Now that I see the grain - I think that's a Rebop4DLX-EX. It's the Zebrawood - with a blue stain - after market. The pattern is similar to my avatar.
If it's in great shape, $700 ain't too bad. I think the after market paint job devalued it a bit. Just my opinion though.

I agree. The standard stain color for the ReBop4DLX-EX is a trans-black stain (since 2010) and I'd say this was once black looking at the stain color at the end of the fingerboard on the neck.
I'd ask for a photo of the back. Just to make sure everything looks OK. Definitely has that WW Corvette look. Pretty cool.
I agree, it's a refin. I wouldn't touch it for 700 dollars. There was a 5 string Rebop in the classifieds that was refinished and It went for less than 600.

Haha! Are the ones on the bay refinished? Not saying it's not a good bass, but I think it would be hard to get 700 back out of it.

I have to admit that i do think the WW Corvette Nirvana Black finish looks really cool
Their a std D Addario 5 string set 45-135. It was what they always had the the closest music store, I don't remember if they were tapered or not. When you say tapered do you mean exposed core? or just tapered windings? ........According to Daddario's site they are tapered
I finally got them to keep DR's in stock. Their 5's have a 130 B. The DR's sound better and last much longer imo. I like Hi beams. Never had a problem with either. I like that new string zing so I change them or soak them often.

When I say tapered I mean there is an exposed core or less wrapping where the string sits in the bridge saddle.
Yea, I don't care for D'Addario a ton anymore. I like nickel strings, so I think I'm gonna go with DR Low Riders if I go DR.
