Same here. I had never touched a Spector in my life but had always wanted one and saw a Euro 5LX for sale on this site for an amazing price so I jumped on it. Once I picked that bass up for the first time, I had never played anything like it and just loved the feel of it. The down side is though, you want to just keep buying more of them :)

Yes. And the 9v NS-2 circuit is supposed to be the only factory option for this bass.

The only differences would be:

The bridge material. The aluminum bridges are tonally a little different than the solid premium brass NS-2 bridges. And they're a lot lighter. The USA Brass bridge weighs in at 1.5 pounds.

The wings on the Forte are solid flame maple. The stock NS-2 wing is solid AAAA Quilt Maple.

But other than this yes... it should be just like any matte finished NS-2 you come across that's of a modern vintage (1998 to now).

The reason why I'm getting rid of the fretless is because I just don't use it enough. I really haven't had a need for it, so I figured I would move it to get something I could use. Believe me, I thought long & hard about it, but when it comes down to it, I want something that's going to get played, and not stowed away. The bass sounds to good to only get used once in a while.

So just out of curiosity, if I ordered an NS2 with black hardware, would the bridge be the same as the Forte or would it be the actual NS2 bridge but black...?

Sweet! Did he buy it from you or just borrow it for that video shoot?

I have to say, I thoroughly enjoyed that video :D I had never really listened to them before until recently when I heard my daughter listening to them with her friends. They have some great songs and hey, Chris Kael is paving the road for us bald older bass players :) I have no idea how old he is but that band seems to have a good mixture of different ages, LOL.

It's different from their older stuff. Wasn't the biggest fan but the newer stuff I like.. Which is refreshing because bands usually go the opposite way with new material after they've been signed lol

He just borrowed it. We're both in Vegas and the shoot wasn't too far from my place. His basses were on a truck to their first stop on tour at the time so he hit me up.

Hes a big fan of the Rex model. I offered my euro also but he wanted to use the Rex.

Super cool guy. He's their newest member and he's always stoked about life. Glad to see him get his shot!

Hey Patrick,
What is the difference between AAA and AAAA maple? Did Stuart ever make any NS-2 basses from AAA maple?

The older Euro I have is AAA maple and I'm thinking of upgrading it to the 9 volt USA preamp. Probably the closest I'll get to a real NS-2 for awhile. Lol! :)
