That's one reason I've held off as well. I like the idea of a 6er but playing one is different. I never feel that I utilize them like I should.

Lol... I went to a 5.. After years of playing a 4 and I ran around all over the place.... On 4 of them... So I got a 4 next time around.

I play a lot of Rock Trio gigs.
I never use the high C for an actual bass line, it just gives me a lot more chording and riffing options during guitar solos. Especially on ballads.

I do occasional jazz gigs and I must admit I like the extra range for when I have to solo.

Lets all pray for a successfull surgery for two of my kids...the oldest is a Ns2a which is getting a transplant of a "Tonepump" and the 2nd youngest which is a Ian Hill Euro which is getting a transplant of a US Haz-lab......thanks in advance for all your prayers.

tell us what you think of the haz lab. I did the same mod on my euro a few months back.

Haha. I totally would, but there's no way I could justify buying a bass right now when I should be saving up for rent, a car, new phone, plane tickets, etc.

DR low Riders! After trying lots and I mean LOTS of strings over the past year alone....These ones do it for me.
2nd favourite were the Spector Nickel strings.

Sounds very similar to me, I keep trying different strings. I am never 100% happy with any yet.

It drives me nuts that one type of string will feel and sound good on one of my basses and not so good or bad on another.
I am restricted to Steel since I have Nickel Allergy.

I have Lo-Riders on my NS-2A

Understandable. I mean, each bass has its own unique "personality" so each one would need its own "personal" strings to voice its uniqueness.

Thats about the best reference you can get in the Spector community.

Their work does look great.
