Thanks man! Justin Chancellor is one of my top favourites!!!
How is jamming only at home an excuse NOT to get a US Spector??
Even if it is just you, it FEELS good!!! :D I'm not in a band either.

I have to say though, that Forte definitely has no problems getting the monster tone Justin gets from his Wal bass.

I don't know why but sometimes I feel a bit guilty for some strange reason when buying gear this expensive :) I know I shouldn't but I can't always help it.

I wouldn't want to disrespect Stu and co's talent by having them make one lol :hiding:

Slow your roll, pimp. :eyebrow:

People buy art, cars, and many other things that they get enjoyment out of. You don't have to justify a hobby. If you love something and it brings you satisfaction it is worth your hard earned money to be happy. :)

I felt the same way and I got over it when I got my Forte :) It justified every penny.
The instrument makes me feel good! It makes me happy to play it and to even see it in my living room. Sounds cheesy but it's true.
Some instruments or other things for that matter are in fact transcending.

Thanks, i'll be sure to look this up.

It looks like he's using the mark king style triplet- where you use your left hand to make a percussive slap sound. I've been using it for a while. Check out P-nut from 311. He uses that technique a lot and he's incredible at it. Just try and look the other way on his choice of basses though...

This explains it perfectly.

This isnt cheesy at all. My living room looks like a Spector Store. They are hanging all over and I even got a Spector poster and Spector Banner, because they make me really happy. :D I have been known to just sit and stare at them. John, can back me up on the Spector Store thing, alltough the inventory has been reduced a bit for the Forte coming in Feb.

seventhframe, I think you are a good canidate to make a My Spector Story. Remember as JPS said, its all about how that instrument makes you excited and the joy you get from your Spector. and you will be the 3rd person in the My Spector Story list with the Sting/Synchronicity influence.

You know what? That is a great point. I will think of that every time I start to feel bad about owning gear like this.

"As long as the family still eats, still has roof with working lights and transportation, get what ever you need to make your self happy."
My wife has said this to me many times when I start "freaking out" about bills and say I feel guilty.

your video inspired me to get off my butt and record something with my spector. lol

Slap recording by slapadabass69 on SoundCloud - Create, record and share your sounds for free

I added a little compression in garageband, but other than that it's all the spector. It's a riff I've been working on for a song with my band. It's a little sloppy, but I hope you all enjoy. let me know what you guys think!

Very nice :bassist:
That is a Legend 5, correct.

Just proving that no matter what the price range, every Spector sounds great. :bassist:

Which strings do you have on it?

Thanks! Yep, legend classic 5, all maple body. I've got D'addario nickels on for the B through D strings, I broke the G and went to a local store. The only single G they had that would fit was a GHS, so I slapped it on.
I like the D'addarios because of their longevity. I've had them on since late July and they still sound great. I'm glad you likes the recording.

John, John, John...:eyebrow: you work hard, you deserve to play hard! I earn a little by flipping basses and work my way up to the SPECTOR bass I'd like. I found as in most anything worth owning, you get what you pay for...quality! More $$$ = more quality.:bassist: At one time I did ask myself if I really needed that next better quality bass when a Legend would be okay? Ya know what...I'm only here on the green side of this sod for a very short time, a better quality bass isn't going to hurt anything or anyone. Plus I play in 2 bands...if that next bass will play easier, sound better...it'll only make my bands sound better. :D

I have been a trading fiend lately... but on the amp side of things. The guitarist in my band think s I'm crazy for trading all the stuff I do. But its fun and when local trades go down, you get to network with other musicians.... today I jammed out of the back of a crossover in a home depot parking lot.... it was good day :bassist: and got some compliments on my performer dlx. :hyper:
