Does anyone have an opinion on the Mighty Mite preamp for a NS2a? I'm thinking about getting that or a tone pump.

for ~$65 it might be worth trying out that mighty mite so you can inform the rest of us on the quality :D . I personally love the tonepump but would be tempted to try the mm114 preamp too...

I have an mm114 in my NS-2000/4 and the tone kills!!!!

Thanks so much for posting this Spector! I have been looking for a pristine used USA NS2 for a long time now. I just completed the transaction with GC and the bass should arrive on Tuesday! Woo-hoo!

Congrats,
Please come back and post some good photos and join and get your Spector Club #. :hyper:

Did you ask them the year it came out of the NY shop? (on back of headstock)

You betcha.. Snatch that up! Good thing with these used basses is if its not as described, you can work with them in person... or just return it. At least you can play it.

Todd...thanks for letting us know about Sims customs.
What a horrible thing to have went through! :scowl:
Had you verified that his shop actually burned to the ground?
Too bad he ended up treating you and who knows how many others like that. His work on the web-site looked awesome. I'm deleting his website from my Favs!

Yes, I did verify that his shop burned. I had to get a copy of the police report about the fire for my insurance company when I filed my claim.

It's not that his paint jobs are bad, it's just are you going to get your instrument back once you send it. :bawl:

That's right man, Life is too short to not enjoy yourself. We have put off trips in the past, I always said "Someday" I will have an American Spector, and usually we will put little fun things off so that we have a little more in the savings account, or something like that. Last year when I got sick, it really made me look differently at some things. Don't get me wrong, I am not putting my family into debt to get a new bass or take trip or something, but being sick and thinking crap, I wanted to take my kids to Disneyland or something else and almost didn't get the chance too, I am not putting stuff off anymore. We work hard and my wife sees how happy my Spector makes me (She laughs at me, if my Spector in my hand or something with Nazi's on the history channel (Just fascinated by WW2 stuff, always have been), or hanging out with my kids I am happy).

So having said that, I need to go talk to her about a Forte....LOL :ninja:

Well said Chris. My job has been taking a serious toll on me but part of it is my fault so I need to stop and take a look around. Like you said, life is too short to not enjoy yourself so I have to change my priorities and do things that make me happy. One of those things happen to be playing Spector basses so that is what I will do :D

By the way, I am with you on the History Channel thing. I am obsessed with that show Apocalypse: The Second World War. Though, I like anything military since Full Metal Jacket was on the other night and I had to watch it all the way through, LOL. My wife always asks me how many times I can watch that movie and I always have the same answer. "Every time it is on."

You definitely came to the right place then. Everyone is always posting links to great deals and sometimes not so great deals for a good laugh. Just be careful....It can get addicting :)

Good luck with the NS2. That really is a beauty and I have always loved Buckeye Burl. Post more pictures when it arrives and even video if you can since we all love seeing and hearing these works of art.
