Spector Club - Part 15

JPS - I think it would be cool if we could see pictures of some of the one offs or special custom orders that Stuart has done .... One in particular I believe everyone would be interested in seeing would be quinten berry's 2 ns's with top mounted control knobs ....

I wonder if Warwick club members bash Spectors the way we bash WWs? One has to wonder.

No, we don't. If I'm honest, I don't really see the need for any bashing in either club - and as a user of Warwick basses (never the Streamer) and a long time lover of Spector basses (and soon to be a Spector owner), it gets tiresome.

I know I'm gonna get flamed for this, but hopefully not too much.

I agree completely. Even though what Warwick did initially was pretty lame, they've subsequently made enough changes to the streamer that if you compared it to a Spector you'd find them to be totally different animals.

I like (some) warwicks, but out of deference to Spector I wouldn't own a streamer.
I admit, it does seem like more of the hate in this little 'feud' does seem to come from our side, as I haven't (yet) seen a Warwick user bagging on Spector basses.

All said, I love my Spector, and even though it's just one of the Korean import models, I'd put it up against a lot of other basses any day of the week.

Here's a 2006 Czek NS-5 custom this guy in the UK had made for him. Never seen anything like it before. Here's what he said about it;
ohnee D'Shea It's the 2006 Chech NS-5. Customized by Dave Rusan - the man who built Prince's 'Cloud Guitar'. The f-hole and Eddie Van Halen one knob were my ideas. Thanks for noticing, Mike!

Yeh I raised that question about 2 years ago...if I remember, the answer was, Stuart has only been building the solid body electric guitars/electric basses. He hasn't built any acoustics.
I'm with you on that thinking though. I'd love to have a SPECTOR built acoustic bass guitar too. :bassist:

I'm pretty sure he'll do something in the future. Because they started with only basses and now have a guitar line. Maybe one day we will have a Spector made acoustic.

Oh My gosh, I know Johhnie from way back in the 90's. I remember he had a SDD 6 string, I went to his house to see it the day he got it, the first bass I had ever seen in Black stain. really nice bass. I think I saw in a guitar center in Minneapolis a couple of years later that had the headstock broken off or something. Where is he now, do you know him?

You'd have to ask Evil Undead. He seems to frequent that forum fairly often... :eyebrow: :hiding: :ninja: :D
OUCH!!! :eyebrow:
Tut tut... hating on the Warwick users again ;)
No hate here..."Just the facts sir,just the facts".:D
Ignorance is a bliss...
Yes sir! And we really don't care anyways. We know where the originals evolved from...and who the promise breakers are!:p

FLAMED?!?!?! Boys! Bring out the torches and hot tar and feathers!!!:hyper: LOL :D

Well...if HP of WW would just hold up to his end of the contract, all of this probably would go away. Plus we're all just having fun with it anyways. I don't think there's a member here that's dead serious about it all. :eyebrow::ninja: It goes in waves seems like.

If I catch wind of an Acoustic coming out I'll put my pre-order in for one!:bassist:

I don't know Johnnie personally but just recently friended him on FB. Here's his website;

+1. I don't personally like Wicks, but I'm not going to flame on someone who does, or any other make for that matter. My sound guy has a very nice Wick, and it's nice to play, so I know they make good basses, they're just not my cup of tea.

Fair enough. I never thought the majority of it was ever really serious, but I've read some heated debates on other forums. It depends on the people involved in said debates how serious they can get (IMO)

Hey nobody will beat ya down for being excited to play SPECTORS in public. :D
I know that I was in the clouds before playing at the First Annual Farmstead Festival this summer.
Can't wait for the videos from your festival ! :bassist: How many bands are to be playing there? Blow them away with that SPECTOR!!!

Many thanks iceboxbass!!!!
There are quite a bit of bands that are going to be there. Linkin Park was headlining, but i guess they cancelled their tour due to their singer needing surgery on his shoulder or something

Here is the link to the Deluna Fest
