Welcome to the world of Spector Evil. Glad you are liking the bass and that is a nice collection you have. Sam is the king of low action and he sure knows what he is doing with that. He has adjusted my bass a few times and even though I think it feels perfect, he knows how to get it to feel even better.

The output jack connection may have come a bit loose in shipping so it might just need to be re-soldered.

I did some set up work on my Legend Custom and left the truss rod cover off, thinking that I might need to make additional adjustments, and I was too busy playing to bother with re-installing the cover. Well, sure enough, I lost the tiny screws for the cover. (I'm hoping my dog didn't eat them. Seriously, he'll eat anything!)

I'm guessing the cover screws are universal, but it seems almost silly to request new ones from Spector. If I were to go shopping for small gold screws, does anyone know the specs on the little buggers? Or if I purchased another cover, would I get the gold screws? I'd be fine with black, but original hardware is gold.

It's not a huge deal but this is my best bass and I'd like to keep it looking nice.

Those will slowly be replaced with spectors! lol nice collection brother

Spector bridges do not have intonation screws. Its a floating bridge saddle design. There is a lock nut on the side of the bridge to loosen the saddles for movement. Move with caution. The newer bridges for 2012 will have intonation screws.

Like I mentioned in the PM, becareful not to drop a saddle out and loose it.

I gave them a call today and spoke with one of their salesmen. The bass was one of the managers. He only plays black or white basses and sold it to GC.

The bass IS a refin. It was black cherry originally and was refinished by a body shop. It does not have a tone pump. They believe that it has an Aguilar pre in it and they aren't sure what Bart pickups are in it. It comes with a case but it is not a SPECTOR case.

So for $1000 bucks, this is not an ideal deal at all.

Thanks for checking that one out Mad. I had a bad feeling about that one from the start and you calling them made me glad I was hesitant.

Funny thing is, they seem to always think the basses have Aguilar pre's in them since that is what they said my Rebop I just bought had in it. I opened up the control cavity and it was a tonepump so go figure :)

I have been using Sadowsky Blue Nickels on ALL my basses for about 3 years now. I have tried the Blue Steels and think I might even have a couple of sets here. I like the feel of the Nickels better and they never get harsh even with extreme treble boost. I have also used the Sadowsky Black Label Nickels and Steels and prefer the Blue Nickels. I have tried numerous other strings in the same basses periodically like the D'Addario, DR Lo Riders, DR Hi Beams, EBMM Slinkys, GHS, Lakland, and Rotosound but I keep going back to the Sadowskys. HIGHLY recommend his flats too! BEST flats I have ever played by far! Most people I have given a set of the Blue Nickels on a bass or to try have switched as well...
