I recommend cleaning your fretboard now.
I used Dunlop 01 & 02. But the first time I didnt get enough of the grime off. So when they sent the replacement set, I used the 01 again and really cleaned it well.
The seller recommended using alcohol but I didnt think that would be so great to use on fretboard wood.

Remember, these NS-2As are old and there is alot of dirt built up on there over the years.

Also, be very careful when you put them on, I tried my best and I still got 2 that arent lined up correctly. :rollno:

That Dunlop 01&02 fretboard cleaner is good stuff. I did my fretboard yesterday. A bunch of gunk came of and the fretboard looks likes new now. I had to rip off my crown decals to do it. :bawl: but I'll get some new ones someday.

NS2a with neon strings.

Like regular strings but better. Because they're neon!

If you sell your Modulus and Fender than you can be a "Pure" blood or keep them and be a Muggle....(harry potter refrence)
I once wanted to try different stuff, so I bought Fenders, Modulus, Rickenbacker, Sadowsky, BCRich, Ibanez, Musicman, Schecter, Tobias and others I cant remember now...but once you have tasted the NT Spector curved body the rest are obsolete.

Sorry I havent been saying much today, having a early snow storm in nyc and I lost power because a tree went down on the main transformer on my street. writing from my phone now :-(

Quick question: I've found a Spectorcore model at a local GC for <$300. I don't know a whole lot about this model but I had a Q5 back in the day and it was super comfortable but my GAS made me trade it! I know somebody has some info for me here! Hows the sound compared to a Q5 and I've been reading about piezos, is that standard on these or is that a special model?

This weather we're getting in the north east is crazy. People in my town are losing power, but we've still got ours luckily. Hope you get yours back soon Lima!

Spectorcore models are semi hollow and the piezo pickups are standard. If your looking for something similar to a Q5, I'd suggest a legend standard or custom. The spectorcore will probably sound a tad different because of the differences mentioned.

for that price you can't go wrong. I found this video on youtube... it should give you a general idea of the sound

I have not played either model but based on the construction the tones should be similar with the spectorcore being warmer with the piezo. AFAIK the spectorecore alway had the piezo (fishman) pup, I use fishman pups and pre's on my acoustics and love them....

Not too many on here have the spectorcore but some do, hopefully they will speak up, but for <$300 you can't go wrong

I've never used a piezo system, what's the big difference? And I dig the hollow body sound so I'm cool with that.
