Spector Club - Part 17

I'm so stoked! Just bought the Green Rebop that Lima Guy posted a link to... :hyper:

It feels so good knowing I'm a Spector owner again (I missed my old Euro terribly).

Here's my new mean green machine! I love the color (Trace knows what I'm talking about), I've never seen one in this color.

eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices

May I have a number? :D :bassist:

Congrats man! I just picked up a Rebop 5 in natural color from around the same time and you will really like the bass. The neck is really comfortable and is super fast to play so you will definitely enjoy it. The only thing I am going to do with it is swap out the old Tonepump and put on of the newer ones in when I get the cash.

Where is the seller? I cant fully she the listing from my phone app, still no power in the house

Still? What the hell is wrong with your town?

Thanks, brother! I'm going to have to pull off the back cover and check out the pre-amp when it arrives. I know some of the early Rebops still had the Aguilar pre-amp so I'm curious to see which one she has.

I also went ahead and bought the Spector inlay decals (I love that look) for it which I'll probably put on when I do the first string change.

I'm so frickin' excited. It's going to feel like an eternity until it arrives! :hyper:

Limaguy and I were looking at that one and it is a bit suspicious. He mentioned that a legend that looked exactly like that was for sale in a guitar center close by for the same price and had a broken truss rod or something like that.

If you can, get the Dunlop fretboard cleaner and give it a good cleaning before using the decals. I have heard some people having issues with the decals but once they cleaned the fingerboard, they worked great.

Anybody know why worshiprocker is picking up radio when he touches the volume pot in the below Q4 application???

I emailed the seller and asked specifically about the truss rod tension and if it was in tact.

Well guys, I've decided to resign my number. Why? Because I do not currently own a Spector and do not plan to for a while. As much as I love the look and feel of Spectors I'm just not a fan of that EMG tone. I've been playing a EBMM SR5 HH and it has become "The" bass for me right now. With an upcoming move and graduating with my master's degree, I can't afford to buy a Spector and then change out the pickups. Even though I'm resigning my number, I will still visit the thread. I've made some pretty cool friends here.

Keep rocking guys! :bassist:

Sorry Dude, Once your in this family, There's only one way out. :eyebrow:

Resignation refused.

It might help if he shields the control cavity with foil (not the stuff from the grocery store, the stuff for guitars ;) ) - including the cover. It also helps cut down on the noise (hum) from the pups (even though EMGs are pretty noiseless as is).

Just a thought.

Thanks for the info! Does using lemon oil on the fingerboard have an effect on the decals? Normally, that's what I use to clean and "condition" my rosewood boards (read it in a magazine as a great way to clean them).
