Any word on the SPECTOR workshop in whether this snowstorm has put a stoppage on them???
How many of you are without power? Upnorth here in the "Tip of the MIT" we lose power so often in the winters that we have generators, wood stoves, kerosene heaters and enough food to last months! And we can walk out to the lake to chip thru the "ice" to get water if need be. :D

Don't laugh, I was cuddling one, while I was freezing in my house last night. :hiding:

The Forte-4 is coming from CA and isnt scheduled to get here till Thursday.

I would think Woodstock should be ok, the storm itself wasnt too bad it was just the trees still had leaves and sap so alot of them took down power lines. If they did loose power, I would hope the Spector shop should be restored with power by the time they open on Monday.

I am sure JPS will give an update.

Thanks Seventh! I'm a skinny guy, so I'm wondering what size strap I should get, I want to have plenty of adjustment, because I like having my bass either on my stomach or in the groin area, somewhere comfortable but isn't too high or too low. What do you guys think, Large or Small?

The Results ended up fairly even.

5 out 12 Votes for Version A Euro 4LX with Sadowsky Steel strings 45-105

7 out of 12 Votes for Version B Euro 4LX with Black Diamond Steel strings 45-105


As most of the comments noted, the Sadowsky strings have a better bass response and clearer treble response.
But they can also be very crisp and bright.

The Black Diamond strings are warmer and have more growl in the mid range and an over all fatter tone.
But do have less bass response.

The Sadowsky, Black Diamond along with the Dunlop Steels have been my favorites lately.

I will post the NS-2A comparison with the Sadwosky and Black Diamonds in a bit.

I'm impressed, I've never heard steel strings that warm without sounding mid-scooped. I figured B was nickels.

The weight is totally worth the protection factor. I have a LOT of camera equipment and I have it all stored in 3 Pelican cases. Heavy to lug around, but I have the piece of mind in knowing that my gear is protected.

The foam is what they call "pick and pluck" foam. Small square cells that you can cut into almost any shape.
You can also put a different custom shaped foam in them.

Sack up? Interesting.

I guess for someone that is sticking their gear in the back of a truck or trailer, or is letting others handle their gear, then it might be worth it. Personally, I'm the only one that handles my gear, and it rides in my personal vehicles. The added protection of a case like this is overkill.
