That cavity, like many Spectors, has the black sheilding paint.
The photo is still too distant and has too many wires in the way to be helpful.

Also, due to having passive pups, that bass has a ground wire (black) going to the bridge.
Take off the bridge and make sure contact is still being made.

Don't forget the obvious stuff: Battery, different cable (sheilded), etc.

I have not played either model but based on the construction the tones should be similar with the spectorcore being warmer with the piezo. AFAIK the spectorecore alway had the piezo (fishman) pup, I use fishman pups and pre's on my acoustics and love them....

Not too many on here have the spectorcore but some do, hopefully they will speak up, but for <$300 you can't go wrong

A combo of semi hollow and piezo...a thumpy, passable upright bass sound could be worked out of these no?

I finally got my power back. :hyper:

If you have listened and voted on this yet please do.

So far it has been 70/30 for one of the versions.

I will have the NS-2A comparison up later when I post the results from this one.

P.S. as my house got down to 50 degrees last night my Spectors went into their gig bags and got wrapped in blankets LOL :hiding:

I voted. I liked "A" a little bit more because it sounded a little more punchy. "B" sounded kinda like a Jazz pickup, good mids, but not as strong on the top and bottom.

BTW, thanks a ton for the Green Rebop link! I bought it.
