Newsflash. You're not the only one that's owned/been through a ton of basses. I just turned 47 and have been a professional player (mostly full time from seedy nowhere bars to tours with a couple #1 artists) since age 13 (Sleeping in Study Hall became crucial :oZzzz). I've been through a bass or two.

Not to beat a dead horse, but you once again seem to be in the extreme minority here. How many examples do you need to be presented with or people posting before you get that there is something to this?!

Unpleasant? Unpleasant is being so staunchly stubborn you can't even begin to see the concessions, yet completely ignore the other side of the coin, to your argument.

If physical facts are unpleasant, I may be unpleasant.

With dozens of manufacturers and thousands of bassists preferring 34" 5ers, I'm fairly confident I'm not in an extreme minority.

To end this debate, I'll concede that, all other things equal ( which they never are) a 35" bass is 3% better than a 34"....even if no one can hear the difference. ;)

I strive to be a very positive, nice person. To an extreme in most cases.

Which means my dark side is very deep and a little scary at times.

From time-to-time it will rear it's dark and sinister head.

I tried to clear the air a little and add something thoughtful to the discussion.

Speaking of necks... Why do some people prefer bolt-on necks to neck-through? I always thought neck through was a step up from bolt-ons.

I love my first neck-through :D

And at that point, I may increase the Pressure and Harassment on everyone else to do their 1st My Spector Story. :hiding: :D

Remember, my camera and or editing services are available to any regular Spector club member who wants to do a story. (you just pay the shipping charges to and from for the camera)

I just watched "LimaGuy/Spector" story.....AWESOME, AWESOME!!!...Was very impressed. HOpe that heart goes on like the energizer battery and keeps on going, and going....Good luck Mr. "LimaGuy"! :bassist::bassist::bassist:

Do you not like the sound of the HZ's? Before my Rebop arrived in the mail, I wanted to rip the HZ's out in the worst way even before hearing them. I guess I thought they wouldn't be too bad since they are passive pickups and I am used to the TW pickups in my Euro 5LX. I was surprised how much I liked them once the bass arrived so I decided to leave them in but I am going to swap out the Tonepump since it is the older one without the trim pot.

You might want to check this thread out and see what you think of the clips. This guy pretty much tried all the different pickups in his Rebop and recorded clips of them so maybe this will help you in your decision:

OK. Spent an hour on the phone with Lance Harvill this afternoon.

He sent me the new Arms of the Sun album. Rex Brown performed on every track of the studio stuff although Rex is no longer with the band (He's doing Kill Devil Kill).

Lance is such a cool guy. And man... he's crazy talented. He wrote the songs, sings them all, plays lead guitar... and he's an Endorsed SPECTOR Electric Guitars Artist.

Show this band some love. These guys rock! And the split with Rex was friendly... Rex wanted to do some more heavy stuff... and Arms is more along the lines of Audioslave... So it wasn't a match. Although Rex's work on the studio stuff is wicked good. As you'd expect.

It's worth checking out and sharing.
