I know...I know... I'll get another one some day. It's like a pain in my gut that just won't go away.
So do you have anything to play at the moment?

a sweet oneI'm super stoked about my latest purchase, an NS2A. I won it on ebay a couple nights ago so it should be here later in the week. The only pictures I have right now are the ones from the auction itself http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=260320312496 . They're not the clearest pics, but it appears to be in really good shape considering the age. I ordered a set of EMG PJs this afternoon and am investigating heavier gauge strings for low C tuning. This thread's been real helpful in my research before the purchase. I lusted after one of these ages ago and now the lust has since been rekindled![]()
a sweet one
I prefer it with active EMGs and w/o preamp - but I like the gritty, harsh sound
Congrats
Mine cost me 500$ + 50$shipping to chicago + 63$ shipping to Poland so it's 613$ at all.. compare it to about 1000$ it costs in poland.. dough![]()
Add me to the list. Just got this one last week, and I'm really enjoying it.Supposedly it's a very early Euro 4,and I was told by the guy I got it from that it is one of the very first Euro models made.Any way of verifying that? It's in literally new condition, and I just need to get it tweaked a bit to my taste. I've been a Music Man guy for several years now,but this thing sounds and plays great.I start giging again in January, and this will definitely see some stage time.

Considering the trip it had to make to Poland, I'd say you got an outstanding deal. I'm gonna see how the EMGs do with the Haz Lab (or Haz duplicate) preamp first. Judging by what's been said in this thread and others, it seems to be the key to that classic Spector grind that I seek.

The earliest ones had dot fret markers. So unless yours is a prototype, it's probably newer. Email PJ the serial, he should be able to tell ya.
I looked at that one and considered bidding. Congrats!
Yes it wa A DEAL for me
I've tried aHazlab on my friend Spector and I've found it much cleaner and midrangy than my harsh, gritty sound which I like
but I play deathmetal so I'm a bit wicked 'bout the dirty sounds
greets anyways![]()
Thanks. I thought it would have went for a little less, but the auction got hot & heavy within the last minute, so I jacked up my max bidRe: the Holyoke incident. Yeah, I heard about that. While not an everyday occurance, it's not the most uncommon thing in this town.
It's one of the earlier versions with solid maple wings,I'm just not sure how early it is. I was going to contact Spector with the serial number and see if the is actually something special about. It doesn't matter,I love the bass! I'm taking it to my first rehearsal with a new project this weekend. Can't wait! Anybody have one of these in an unlined fretless?
Here's a really nice NS-2A up on the 'bay.

Let's see if anybody knows this question. The seller says it has "Spector EMG pickups" but EMG didn't make the Spector pickups. I think the seller is confusing them with the Select by EMG pickups. Now, mind you I'm going on an increasingly waning memory here, but does anybody know what company made the Spector pickups without emailing PJ or any other help?

I believe this one was made by Samick.
