I'm thinking about parting with my custom Fender Strat (Dave Murray FrankenStrat).
I'm looking for a nice Spector 5 string for a practice bass in trade.
Do you think it'd be worth listing it here in the classifieds? I mean it's a guitar. You know?

Oh, anyone know what bridge goes on an NS-2A? If I wanted to replace the black bridge with a gold one, which bridge would that be?

Not sure, but if you're going for a gold one in that size range, I think you're going to need a Legend bridge.
Ok. I looked at the Spector site and was trying to figure out the difference between the Rebop and Legend bridges (other than the material uses - aluminum)
Yup! The bridge on the NS-2A is roughly the same size as the bridge for the Legend Series. They are actually nearly identical in shape and design, the only difference is that the legend bridge lacks the "Spector" monogram.
This subject pops up every once in a while.
The question of why can't I just slap a Euro or USA bridge on my NS-2A or Legend also pops up.
String spacing and routing for the NS-2A and the Legend are different than the Euro and USA models.
The routed hole in the body of the NS-2A isn't large enough for the Euro or USA bridge. You'd have to route that space out larger to accomodate one and that's a really tricky procedure. One mistake and your bass is trashed.
The string spacing for the Legend and NS-2A is .70" whereas the Euro and USA models are .75"
And on the NS-2A this really doesn't affect the placement of the strings too close to the edge of the neck if you change bridges to another series (so long as you don't stuff your body with a bad routing job), the Legend necks are narrower and you will have strings that will be right on the edge of the neck... making the bass very difficult to play.

What about the nut?
I was giving my Legend Classic 4 a cleaning sometime last week and the nut came off. I had been thinking about changing it to a brass nut at some point anyways, figured now would be a good time to do it.
How should I go about it? Does anyone know of a brand or make that will fit? With the string slots pre cut to the right spacing etc? Or is this gonna be a bit of a tricky procedure?

Really? I just assumed they'd be proliferate on the US models. I'd love to slap one on the green beast.
No that is a very rare thing. Actually, of the hundreds, if not thousands of SPECTORs I've seen... that's the only one I've ever seen with that sort of truss rod cover.
I saw a burled walnut NS-5XL that had been taken to a custom shop and had matching walnut added to the headstock... so the body and headstock matched. But even it didn't have a truss cover like this.
I remember talking to the original owner of this bass. He had Larry Robinson, the guy who did the inlays for the anniversary basses, do this for him. I want to say he paid around $200 for him to do it. It does look great!!!!
