Unsure man, I'm thinking hopefully sometime by the end of the month we'll have footage to put together to make a live video with several different views. The only problem being it probably won't be as exciting looking as the last video. It'll be with a different band as well.

I'm working on laying down new bass and guitar tracks for a NIN song called "The Beginning of the End".

I'm using the NS-4 and ARC6-B and am videotaping the process. Once it's all finished I'll post the video on YouTube and link it here.

And another "little" detail regarding the NS-4...
Like I said it's the little details which make this guitar stand out.

I was looking at the headstock... I noticed a wood grain pattern in the black part (front of the headstock) where the Double S logo is.

And the Double S on USA models is Abalone (to match your inlays)...

The black front is Ebony. Real Ebony. I believe this is plastic in the Euro and the Professional series basses.

It is dark stained Ebony in the USA models. At least on my NS-4 it is.

I was talking to Todd the other day and I mentioned your Black Cherry NS-2, not realizing you two knew each other and he said you might be ordering another.

Congrats! Todd's a great guy.

Yeah your Matte Black Cherry NS-2 is one of the best looking NS-2 models I've seen. I think I mentioned it that I was soooo close to buying it myself.

A USA NS-2 done exactly like yours is on the wish list.

Neck Dive Question

I'm expecting my first ReBop-4 any day now, never played one, and I keep hearing about a neck dive issue. Some people say they experience none at all, others say it was way too much for them to keep the bass.

For all those of you who use/own a ReBop-4, please comment on two scenarios:

1. with the bass "strapless", resting on your leg while sitting down
2. with the bass hanging on a decent leather strap while standing

I think the whole neck-dive issue depends on your technique mostly, that's why some people are bothered with the rebop and some others don't mind.

If u use this way of holding the bass:

..then you have no neck-dive issue cos your hand blocks the body from going up.
(i hold it like that and no problems at all, and no holding with my left hand so it moves freely on the wonderful rebop neck )
This is usefull for sitting down too.

If u hang the bass like this though:

..then it's highly probable that u'll experience some neck-dive cos of the rebop's small body. A thick and wide leather strap will help a lot.

Let us know when u get it

I play a lot like Bob Daisley, with my bass hung similarly, and play with a plectrum. I think I may be OK, but I'd still like to hear from more of you guys! I am just so baffled by how much people swing on this topic and hope I don't have to re-sell mine after it arrives

Although, I have not owned a Rebop, I have owned the US model bolt-on. Neck dive issues? None. I think ysand hit the nail on the head. One thing that some Spector users do to compensate for possible neck dive is move the rear strap button to the center of the bass.

I do this (rear strap button), but it has nothing to do with neck dive.
I can't speak to the ReBop 4, but the ReBop 5 DLX I had, had a ton of dive and I've never had that on the dozen or so other Spectors I've owned over the years. However, it is not ultimately why I didn't keep that particular bass. I was able to deal with the dive.

None of my other Spector 5's had dive.....and neither does my 6.

None of my other Spector 5's had dive.....and neither does my 6.
I've also had 5's and 6's from various other brands with no such problems.

+1... In fact my Legend 6 has less of a problem with it than my NS-5H2.

I think it has more to do with the angle at which you play your bass than how you hold it. Usually when I get it more vertical--you know, more \m/--the strap button on the upper horn is the one working to lower the neck. Maybe I just need to work the leather on my strap to soften it up.

I have the straps with a vinyl pad in the middle. These are very slick (I like them that way so I can re-adjust my angle at any time easily). I still have no dive problems.

My Rebop wasn't a "problem". It was just easy to tell it "wanted" to neck dive if I didn't hold/play it securely.
My others I can take my hands away at any time and have no such problems.

My rebop 4 only has a bit of neck dive when sitting but on a strap its pretty stable.
