I don't want to get into any trouble here.
Yes, I do now officially work for Spector. But I still don't speak for them. And they are such great people I'd never want to step on any toes. But I am invested in seeing them grow and prosper because I've invested so much time and effort into helping them.

That being said, I'm not a company guy, meaning I'm going to try to feed people the coolaide because that's the same stuff I'm drinking. I've never been a "yes" man. I tell people that if that's what you want, you don't want me. I've never felt it was in the best interest of any company to fill its ranks with people who blindly go along with everything the leaders of the company dream up.

Today it would seem is disclaimer day.

OK. I'm going to always be honest with you guys and everyone else for that matter.

I've spoken directly with a BIG SPECTOR artist who is currently touring and did finished a complete album (which is climbing the charts right now) using a Forte. And I have no problem relaying what he told me.

He loves it. It's like it was the bass of his dreams made just for him. He actually had made a request to the factory for a bass very similar to the Forte as they were being built.

The Forte 4 is a NS-2. The only option the Forte4 has is the USA 9v Circuit, the same one that goes in the NS-2 (The Haz... which we don't like to call the Haz because it's made just for us, thus the USA 9v circuit) If you order one with that tone control, you're getting a Matte Poly finished Flame Maple NS-2 without neck inlays. That's it. It's the same bass. Quality and construction are no different (except for the norm on the NS-2 is the quilt maple wings).

I'm gassing for an NS-2... but I might just go with the Forte. The NS-4 I'm getting is to me the ultimate... but the inside, I'm the guy that fell in love with SPECTOR because of the old Brooklyn NS-2. And honestly the new NS-2's are made so much better... after 35 years Stuart has them down to a science. I think I'll always want the NS-2 from a sense of nostalgia... But I'm going to opt for the NS-4 when it comes to recording.

The best $25 you'll ever spend... get a set of the Schaller Strap Locks please...

I personally don't like the Dunlops... they work fine but they stick out too far from the horn and the back for my taste...

I prefer the Schaller. Dude! I wouldn't dream of strapping any guitar on without a strap lock.

It's like driving a race car without a seat belt. You're just waiting for disaster.

OK so much for not "pushing product"...
I have SPECTOR strings on all of my basses but my fretless. Which I have D'Addario Chrome Flats on.

And I use SIT 9 guage on the ARC6. Which is a very nice combo.

I really like the Spector Strings. They are made in the USA and were designed by Stuart. I love their feel.

And keep in mind I'm a 4-string player. So I can only speak about the 4-string sets.

Did I ever post the link to the video of my friend testing the ARC6-B (bolt-on)?

He's a heavy-metal guitarist, mainly a recording, session guy. He's been in a few regional bands. He's got tons of skill.

He banged on the ARC6-B for about 3 hours. Ended up walking away wanting one. And he plays Les Pauls, the really high-end expensive ones. So that went well.

Recognized a Maiden riff in there. :bassist:

A simple look on the guitar, allows the subtle things like body shape, headstock and pickups stand out more. I like.

Huge, HUGE improvement. I can now understand the range of models a whole lot better than before.
So how do you get on in a meeting with PJ Rubal?
Does anyone get you 2 mixed up?

Does anyone mix us up? Not so far. Just one person on YouTube. So not really.

How do PJ and I get along? We really work very, very well together. It's been a great working relationship. He is very honest, a man of his word and a very good communicator.

I really can't say enough good things about everyone there. I feel really lucky to have had this opportunity with Spector. It was the right place and time. I haven't been doing web design work since selling my company in 2005. I've really been retired. It took a cool, fun project like this one to make me want to dive back in.

It's still not finished... actually websites should never be finished... they should always evolve and grow. There are many new features I still want to add.

Do more photos... add more artists... and I want to do a section on cool mods. Like the eight-string Spector bass mod, some of the other cool stuff people have done to their basses to hot rod them. Especially with custom finishes and stuff.

Make it really about the SPECTOR community. That's part of what makes the company so great. Get a SPECTOR, you become part of the family. Not a lot of companies have that sort of attitude.

Anyway. More cool stuff to come.

Yeah, Cam is a metal guy and he's a huge 80's metal fan. Funny to hear a guy who was born in 1988 go on about 80's music the way he does.

As for the ARC6... It's a very elegant design. Not really the NS-shape. Similar but different in the right way for an electric guitar.

And man is the hand-made USA Workshop quality incredible. It's a really tight little guitar.

I really love it. Again, everything that makes me love the basses so much is also present in the ARC6.

Why oh why doesn't Spector cut out the body to access the last 3 frets on the neck? It's so irritating to not be able to play up there with any efficiency. I dont want to hear "you can tap the notes" or "nobody plays up there anyway". Just a good reason why they are reluctant to just cut the lower body back like everybody else does. Spector avoids an answer this question for some reason and if they had a reason other than "well thats just the way we do it", I have not heard it.

I'm sure they have their reasons. However, this is something I would like to see as well. I would even go so far as to carve out heel where the neck meets the body (like some of the other high end basses) to make access even easier.
I think it would be difficult to make the body access much deeper and still have it look like a Spector due to the already smallish body. I'm sure Stuart and the boys could come up with something, but from what I understand they have their hands full keeping up with orders. I doubt that leaves much time for R&D.

The new ReBop artists galleries (the ones which the 4-string and 5-string players separate) will go up today.

You're right there big as day in the Rebop5 section.

Everybody, Im GASing for an NS 20005 in (preferably) matte red.

Id like it to look like the red one second from the right in this picture:
