I was searching for an unlined fretless Spector ever since I've seen some in this Club.

And that's what I've found:
1994 SSD NS-4 FL

Well, I'm already in this Club and I know that pictures are obligatory ;)

Here're some of them:

I picked up a second Legend 6 about a month back not sure if I posted pics - but here's my pair of 6's.

The new one is the Bubinga - and they do have a different tone - not sure if it is the Wood or the different strings - once I have them strung the same I will be able to get a better comparison.

Here's a closer shot of the Bubinga

For 4 Strings my Original Legend 4 P/J slays for tone and plays like butter.

Hi Spector fans,

I started a thread because I didn't see your club.

I got some answers but for fun I'm going to ask it again since you folks are the Spector experts.

I was unsure as to whether to get a ReBop 4DLX-FM or 4DLX-EX Zebrano. My question was if the Zebrano top made a tonal difference. (Warmer, brighter, no difference?) I ordered a Zebrano this morning, but I do prefer a warmer sound. It's very hard to hear the difference in music stores with all the other noise and the amps changing from store to store.

Any thoughts? Thanks everyone!

Don't know if this is the right place for this question, but does anyone know where i could buy some spector knobs outside of the company? is there any sites that sell them?

Thanks in advance!

Allparts have a selection - I've just ordered a set of gold knobs for both of my NS5XL's ;)

Hey thanks for the uber-fast reply!

I think that these are the same knobs, but can someone confirm it for me.....I'm not near my bass at the moment.

One last question as well....I was thinking of getting the EMG BTC Control, but was wondering if i could use these knobs with it? If anyone knows i would be most greatful!!!

Thanks again!

It's lunchtime over here in the UK - perfect time for browsing Talkbass :)

I asked AllParts which knobs to use and they were really helpful. I wanted gold metal ones and they recommended:

MK 3330-002
MK 3320-002

The 002 bit is the indicator that they are gold - the 3330 & 3320 is the actual knob type.

I'd ask AllParts - let them know exactly which bass model (and year) you have & they should be able to do the rest!

Hey. I just thought I would share this with you that have Gotohs on their Spectors (US models mostly). If you plan on or have installed a detuner on your Spector, you will notice that the tuning post is significantly shorter than the rest. This is a result of Hipshot retrofitting the detuner plate to the existing Gotoh tuner. Although it looks kinda funky with the shorter post, the folks at Hipshot say it works just fine. However, for those of you like me that just have to have the post the same height as the rest, you can ship your detuner to Hipshot and they will replace the post for $35.00 + shipping. They are quick too! I shipped mine and in a couple of days they called to tell me it was done and was being shipped back. Pretty cool. I will post a pic of the newly installed tuner soon. :)

Antonius, thanks,

I don't have soundclips now. I will post some, when I'll have an opportunity to record this bass.

It sounds like a fretless SP basses, which basicaly are copies of F-dera basses... Nothing similar with Spectrocore for sure.
