The only thing that could make that one nicer is the push/pull mid pot. Also my preference is for the MM sweet spot when only having one pickup but still... DANG thats nice.

We developed the USA Stocking Dealer graphics last month. I'm going to see about having that USA logo I created for PJ and Stuart turned into some shirts... I know just the guy...
How many of you like the new USA Spector logo? And if you do... would you like to see it in a nicely designed T-Shirt?
And how do you guys like the new U3 (Uncompromising Quality... etc...) Branding? "Basses Built for a Lifetime" has been retired.
Site is so close guys... It's going to be a whole new, big Spector world out there...

As so much of the Spector brand is made overseas.... I'd prefer to just see a large 'plain' Spector logo on a t-shirt....

But SPECTOR is a USA-based company.... LOL.
I totally understand. The way we're looking at it is yes, absolutely the Korean and Czech lines are awesome and they make up the majority of sales. But the USA models are really the heart and soul of the company. Stuart makes these instruments. All of the overseas models are based on USA models.
The main reason for the USA "Double-S" is to instantly identify the model or in the case of why the image was created, the dealer, as a USA Model Stocking dealer.
Now two last little things...
Last time I checked Gary, your sizeable and most impressive Spector collection was made up (the majority) of USA Models... How many? 12... 15... or so?
And you have to admit that every time you see one of us Yanks driving around in a Mini with the Union Jack painted on it, it makes you want to smile... It makes me smile. But mainly because BMW (a German Company) owns Mini now. So how messed up is that? Driving a German car with a British flag on it around American highways.
See. The USA branding for SPECTOR isn't near that tricky! LOL! Thanks for your feedback. I always appreciate your point of view.

On the front it has a large 'Spector' headstock & logo on it.
On the back it has the legend "No.... it's NOT a Warwick!!"

Actually once the site is online... you guys will understand when you see it... I want to work with Todd Cooke to do some really nice new shirts.
There's a place here in LA that will print your own fabric (pattern you take to them). I was thinking about doing some Spector Double-S fabric shirts in black and white... no... not red white and blue...
PJ likes the ornate print shirts (if you've seen him at NAMM you know the ones I speak of). I want to design some wicked looking Spector shirts. Ones John Goslin would want to wear...

Just so you know...
My mother is Scottish. Ready. Wait for it. Yup. She's a Bruce. Can trace her family line all the way back to Robert.
My father is German decent. Most of his family arrived here to escape that mess back in the 1930's and 1940's. He was the first of his family born in the US.
So now you know.
The German in me wants to pick at you and the Scottsman has too!

You do have an impressive collection. I love your white and your black Spectors.

The Warwick Guys hate me. I would never do anything to represent Spector (Stuart or PJ) in a negative manner so I've toned it way down... but I love pushing their buttons.
Theft is theft. Put any pretty bow on it you want... and a box of poo for a present is still a box of poo. I think I got a fortune cookie that said that once.
T-shirt idea coming... "A box of... is like playing..." and then we take that plump German kid from Willy Wonka (the Gene Wilder one) and have him sitting there with that big grin and chocoate all over his face... a guitar in his lap.
See... I get myself in trouble. :-( Got to behave.

Forgot to mention that I wore that airbrushed shirt at the British Music Fair back in the day and got loads of great reactions from fellow bassists! Funniest moment though was standing on the Warwick stand & closely inspecting their basses while their reps looked on incredulously.... I simply shook my head and tutted then asked a member of staff where the Spector stand was!
Excited for the website to finally be finished! I need to do me some research. I have some specific ideas in mind for my next Spector and I know that somewhere down the line what Im looking for has been created. I just gotta find out which one it is.
Also, I was at a show tonight in my girlfriend`s town of Sherbrooke (2 hours out of Montreal). 2 of the 6 bands were rocking Spectors. Glad to see that our brand is getting around and making it`s way into more guy`s hands. Everyone I talk to who plays one says the exact same thing. The feel of the neck is unlike anything they`ve ever played, and the sound is always there. Clear, punchy, defined and thick, no matter what amp they use.
Always bring a smile to my face when I walk into a show and see that headstock and logo on the stage.
Btw, one guy was rocking a Legend 4 Classic, one of the newer ones I believe, it had two soapbars. The other was rocking the Mike Kroeger signature model. Both sounded hot!
Also, I snapped a few pics of my gf playing my Euro. I wish I could get them off my phone, cause I know how much you guys like hot girls and Spectors combined. And i know what the rules are... Ill see if she lets me take some pics on a real camera for you guys

Some of you may remember me raving about this bass a while back.
I bought it to tide me over until the right Euro or USA 6 came along. But this ended up playing so well after my setup I was just stunned (had played several identical in stores and was underwhelmed
).
Was also surprised at the higher end features that weren't even on the Euro's (Counter sunk control cover. Threaded brass inserts for control cover screws. Dual [both sides instead of only one like the Euro bridges] locking/spacing allen screws on the bridge. Countersunk neck bolts. Dual truss rods [Do the Euro 6's and/or USA 6's have dual truss rods? Spector mentions it nowhere on the site as far as the Legends are concerned]).
Where this bass fell short (compared to my USA or Euro4 NS's) was the pickups and pre. I first replaced the "Tone Pump Jr." with an actual "Tone Pump" with little improvement.
Having been happy with the "OBP-1" in the other Spector, I bought another to replace the "Tone Pump" and got a set of "EMG TW45's" to replace the "EMG-SSD45's" that were in the bass. The "TW's" came with switches prewired to the quick connects instead of push/pulls (which I prefer anyway).
Although I think I might have prefered "DC's", these "TW's" with the "OBP-1" are a huge improvement over the old electronics. The bass is now playing so well and sounding so much better it's getting hard to justify the major increase in cost of a Euro or USA 6.
Maybe.....if I just gotta' have a neck-thru.
