Anyone have the Gig Bag from the Spector website? How is it? It looks to be a good one but I'd like to hear from someone that has one.

Spector_Ray, can I have a number? I posted a pic of my Spector NS2A a few posts back and asked for a number but never got one:crying::bawl::(

Thanks!

I almost bid on one on ebay, but decided to buy a hsc. I figure $110 is good insurance on a $1500 bass.

Sorry about that. If you didn't pm me, I probably didn't see it. Tis ok since you're #65.

Thanks Man!!

What kind of HSC will fit the NS2A? Is there a type to look for?
I got a TKL case that is in great shape with it, but I think I am going to use that one with a Fender P-Bass I have, so I was looking for a good alternative for the Spector. The factory one at $200 seems a bit pricey considering I got my NS2A for $350!

I suppose any P-bass style case should do. I used a SKB case for my NS-2A and it worked perfectly. The only real advantage of the Spector case is that it's form fitted for the NS body.

They want $200 for a Spector hsc?? Man, I only paid $120 shipped from Guitar Center a couple of years back.

I checked around and found the Spector HSC shipped for $139. What do you think of the quality of the case?

Thanks.

It's not the best, but it'll do. This is my only gripe about Spector. They spend the time and effort to make quality instruments and then they skimp on the cases made to protect the bass, which for most people is their hard earned money. They're basically chipboard held together with glue and staples. It'll work, but I don't know for how long and if you gig a lot, count on a shortened life.

I have one of the Spector gig bags as well as cases for my bases - I used my Musician's Friend 20% off coupon plus the 15% off sale they were having at the time and really made out. :D The gig bag is nice: certainly not a "InCase" softcase but nothing like a crappy Guitar Center bag. Decent amount of padding, extra padding as well as rubber pad on the bottom to avoid "bottom-of-the-bass" damage, side handle/shoulder strap/dual "backpack"-like straps for carrying. Also a good amount of pockets for cables and minor items.

I also have to agree with Spector_Ray about the cases: they're "old school" and Spector simply hasn't come into the new millennium regarding. I let it slide, however, since they're continually improving their basses. ;) If I were gigging hard I'd have saved for an InCase, but for right now they're simply for protection when the moving process comes back up.

Hi Everyone,
I just ordered a legend 5 classic in slate grey. The only thing is that the store doesn't know when its going to get them in. They said that its not something they get often, and the canadian distributor told me that this is their largest store in the Toronto area.

Does anyone have any experience that might let me know when this might come in?

Hey folks
I am picking up my 1st Spector today. Its a used legend 5 classic,
s/n 0029441 (what year?)
Its got EMG hz's on it.
It is missing the saddle for the g string. How hard is that to replace?
I am only paying $250 (w/case) for it. Am I getting a good deal?
Thanks
DDT

Sounds like a good deal to me. Thats less than half of retail price, plus the case. Were the EMG HZs put in by the previous owner?

I think it's a great deal: it's not a tough and expensive thing to replace the missing saddle. Go for it :hyper:
