Thanks Cetera! I am psyched! I have a FedEx tracking # and everything. I was torn between the white and black, but ended up going with black even though my love for the Synchronicity era NS2 that Sting played ALMOST swayed me. I'd always know it wasn't the right bass! So, I plan to get a copy of that NS2 someday.......

There will definitely be a picture fest when it arrives!

What's the deal with the different headstock shape on some of the Spectors? Was there a time when Stuart could not use the original design? I played a Euro 5 string at Sam Ash today that had the other headstock.

The 4 strings have differrent headstocks to the 5ers and 6ers, at least on the euro series, i'd say this is something to do with the balance of the bass.

BTW I just put a st of new elixirs after a year with the older set, and it sounds so good....

SpectorDetector's right and I never really thought much about it. The Rex 5ver has the traditional headstock shape whereas the other 5vers have a narrowed version. Maybe Rex preferred the traditional shape headstock.

Yeah, I like those slimmer headstocks too. I always thought the "paddle" headstocks looked a little silly and out of proportion to the body but figured it had to do with compensating for deadspots in the neck.

It's not so aparent on the extended renge ones, but I'll agree with you on the four.

Now that I've spent some time comparing them, I've reconsidered and have decided that I too prefer the "paddle" over the narrow one. It also seems that all Spector 4s have the paddle, and only the Euro and US extended ranges have the narrow one.

That's my final decision until I redecide again.

I am curious to find out the exact model of instrument one of my faovrite players used in the 80s. I personally am not good at identifying the models by sight, but I wondered if you brothers/sisters are.
