Count me in:

Count me in. Just got my first Spector (Legend 4 Classic) few months ago and will propably stick to the brand for the rest of my life.

Legends are gateway basses for sure! Replace the Tone Pump Jr. and there is no bass in the price range that can compete.

Is it possible to custom order a Spector 5 string wit 34" scale? I doubt its possible on Euro models, but what about USA ones (both Bolt On and neck-through)? I love the sound and look of Spector, but I I don't believe I could ever be comfortable on the 35" inch scale

I picked one up a few months ago (Euro NS5CR Neck Thru 34" Scale). I like it so much I decided to keep it over my Euro NS5L-EX with a Spalted Maple top. I'm not sure, but I think they were only available in solid colours back then. Mine is all black. There are pics a few pages back in this thread.

Funny, I was just wondering the same thing. I love my Rebop 5, but after playing it for a good while I'm realizing the 35" scale might be a bit uncomfortable for me overall (of course, being a Spector, I love everything else about it, though! :D).

My buddy who's in good with the Spector folks said he was supposed to be talking with PJ on the phone in a day or two and said he'd ask him for me. I'll let you guys know if I hear anything!

After a little searching I was able to find some very nice (older) Spector 5-string with 34" scales that aren't solid colors. The shop where I have bought my last few amps has one on consignment. It's an older SSD that looks like it has a flame maple body and a cherry burst finish. The electronics are EMG's and the piezo bridge (I think). I believe the owner of the shop said new it listed at $4000, so it's probably a US model. I think he's asking $2200 for it.

I don't want this to seem like I am trying to sell the bass for him, I just thought I would mention it since a few people have indicated that they are looking for 5-strings with a 34" scale. PM me if you want more details.

Yeah, I remember reading here that you can actually custom order an Euro if you contact the factory directly with any type of electronics you want! Not so sure about different scale though... I think I'll email them (and spector shop in Woodstock) to ask them later today, and I'll bring you the news...

Can I ask Spector brothers a question why people play

Euro neck-thru more than USA bolt-on ?

My friend asked me this but I can't answer him .

Please help me .

Because the quality is every bit as good as a US bass. They aren't budget basses by any means either, just less pricey. There will always be that mystique that the US models have, but when you can't afford a bass over $2000, they're impossible to beat.

PS...here's my new (used) Euro Rebop 5 DLX. EMG 40DC's and EMG BQS preamp. The switch was used for switching between pickups with the old preamp but is now disconnected. I may end up making it a kill-switch to save batteries without unplugging my bass but we'll see.
