SPIDERS!!

Last night a decent sized adult wolf spider ran onto my arm while i was in bed, under the covers, playing minecraft. I FREAKED out. I think spiders are fascinating. But they're they only animal I have a phobia of. And the fact that they are somewhat similar in size/appearance to brown recluses.. well, I woke up the rest of my family screaming.

..which I knew had the ability to bind certain classes of biological toxins.

You probably know more about this. I was in a medically related field but not one where i used a lot of chemistry (at least not since the 1970s). Action is the same as many quaternary ammonium compounds since CSM is a polymer attached to a quat group. I thought this produces a stronger bonding than a typical chealating compound but maybe you can fill in the blanks backchannel.
