Squier Classic Vibe 2019

Anyone know the string spacing for the Jazz V? I emailed Fender, who wrote a great and helpful reply, but couldn't confirm the exact measurement. I'm hoping for 18mm, are Fender 5s are often 18.4 or so? 18mm or thereabouts and I'm getting one preordered.

Well, the GAS was too strong, and the price too tempting, I've pre-ordered a 60s Jazz in Daphne Blue.

No delivery estimate yet, but I will of course provide pics and thoughts when it arrives!

I am optimistic about the quality of the new ones anyway, both because I have a brilliant MII Squier (VM Amber Precision) and because Cortek have a pretty solid reputation of building to exact price points wherever they set up shop.

They can't be that bad, at least nothing a good set up won't fix, anyway! Seriously, for the price these basses look great I don't understand why people are complaining! ;)

Saves me an extra $700 on a Fender! And with the spare change, I can mod it into a super squier, that's if I even feel I need to.

Looking at the specs on belfield music's website, it says Country of origin ID, I'm guessing means Indonesia?

Then it says ETA over 4 weeks.

It says availability: accepting orders

So this IS the new Squier CV! It is just available for pre order at the moment.

WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK?? SHOULD I PULL THE TRIGGER?? I REALLY WANT ONE, AND I CAN AFFORD IT NOW, TOO!

Oh yeah, black CV 70's jazz, put on a hi mass bridge, install some vintage noiseless pickups, load it up with a set of Fat beams, put a nice white pearl pickgaurd on, and BOOOM! You got yourself a sick bass there!!

Yep, sounds like a recipe for a budget Geddy Lee alright

I wouldn't be so quick to replace the pickups though, give the stock ones a chance. Fender designed AlNiCo 5s... Probably not a mile off the Player series pickups, and they're pretty nice.

The prices seem a little variable, I bought mine here:

£331 - they sell the VM Jazzes for £309. Most other places have the new CVs at £379, which is the marked down from price at GAK.

That's nearly $700 AUD what?!?

The $579 CV 70s i saw on Belfield Music's sight looks too good to be true!!!!

But I don't want to commit without playing it and hearing properly.

I have played a '17 or '18 affinity and thought it was the bees knees in quality and sound. LOVED it!

Have heard SO many people love the VM 70s jazzes.

Have heard the chinese CV's on youtube and they sound as good as a mex fender for sure, as do the VM 70s too.

So... what do you guys think? For this price, should I pull the trigger? Or should I wait until I have scraped up enough money for a MIM geddy?

Yeah agree. This is only if I HAVE to change anything. But I'm pretty confident it's a good piece right outta the box!

3 beautiful colour options for the CV 70's. What y'all thinkin?

Sunburst - Probably the nicest, but worried that on squiers and more cheaper range basses it won't turn out that good or as nice as it is in the photos on the website and I'll wind up hating it!

Natural - Looks nice, but is a bit more out there and not very used to it.

Black - safest option can't go wrong, but might get a bit boring?

What's all your favourite colour???

My Sweetwater rep called today with an update on shipping after previously telling me they would start getting these 1-MAR. He is now saying it will be mid-April before they be going out.

Yep. I already emailed fender a few days ago and they said April. Even for Australia too. My guess is they might even take a month or two longer than that to come to Australia. You Americans are lucky you get all the good stuff first. We just have to be patient i guess. Im gonna pre order mine now though!

When someone gets a CV 70's jazz please let me know, maybe even upload some sweet audio, too!
