Squier Classic Vibe 2019

What are we all thinking in terms of quality and sound for the new CV's? Better than VM, or same?
Even if it's the same, I don't care, because the VM's are still GREAT instruments.

You know what? This is a deal to good to pass...
I'm gonna get the CV 70's jazz I think!
I have a CV as well as a VM, while I think the CV is overall a little nicer, the VM is still a great bass.
I don’t think you can go wrong.

3 beautiful colour options for the CV 70's. What y'all thinkin?

Sunburst - Probably the nicest, but worried that on squiers and more cheaper range basses it won't turn out that good or as nice as it is in the photos on the website and I'll wind up hating it!

Natural - Looks nice, but is a bit more out there and not very used to it.

Black - safest option can't go wrong, but might get a bit boring?

What's all your favourite colour???

In my opinion black precision only work with black pickguards

You Sure?
I would be happy to be wrong ;) once we see more in the wild we’ll have a better idea...I’m always wary of anything that seems too good to be true.

I don’t think anyone’s had a chance to actually play one yet...

I was asking for like a rough estimate of the quality and sound. So many people love the VM series, and the last CV's were Fender MIM quality hands down, and now, the CV range has been updated, BUT it has moved production to a different factory, so what are peoople's opinions on how good they will be.
thats what I was asking

It might take a few weeks to find that out.
That's why finding a discontinued CV might be the way to go.
Unless we're talking about the few remaining "old school" CV models still hanging up in stores.

I'm expecting somewhere in between the current CV and VMs quality wise. There isn't that much between them anyway.

Vintage tall frets, threaded saddle bridge, nice colour choices, I think they'll be on to a winner.

Zooming in on the pics, it looks like they're using a wooden sleeve in the truss hole, so perhaps not just VM necks that have been refinished?

Fair enough! I guess I am just old school and don’t wish to speculate on sound and feel based on photos and specs ;)

Regarding Indonesian production in general, I have nothing bad to say, having owned two Indonesian Squiers. The quality of both has been excellent and QC exactly what I would expect at the price point (which is to say, good but not perfect).

I have a Chinese-made Cort acoustic guitar, FWIW, made by the same company (Cortek), and I would say exactly the same things about it as the Indonesian-made Squiers.

Yep. I already emailed fender a few days ago and they said April. Even for Australia too. My guess is they might even take a month or two longer than that to come to Australia. You Americans are lucky you get all the good stuff first. We just have to be patient i guess. Im gonna pre order mine now though!

When someone gets a CV 70's jazz please let me know, maybe even upload some sweet audio, too!
Hey man, I'm in Australia too. I thought better music's price of $599 was great, but $579 is even better! Think I will get mine from Belfield music too.

Side note, when I enquired about preordering the Daphne Blue, they (better music) said there could be a wait time of between 6-12 months, due to its popularity. The other colours shouldn't have as long of a wait.

I'll be interested to see when the Daphne Blue jazzes will hit the shops, if Fender Aus get a few in for store stock, then any orders are the longer wait times. If it is 6-12 months before any hit the shops, that's pretty average.

Wow! That's ages, man!

I emailed fender regarding when the updated CV series should hit Aus and they said about April. But who knows. Could be longer, could even be quicker but I doubt it.

Belfield's website doesnt specify either... just says ETA over 4 weeks. No help.
But price seems good. I hope it stays that low!

Was that 6-12 month wait just for that colour? Or for all the CV basses?

I'm thinking of ordering a CV 70's jazz from belfield. Either Natural or Black. You got any info on these?? Thanks

Here's what I mentioned, I've not seen a wood sleeve like that on a Squier/Fender before.

They are using Indian Laurel for the truss rod "hole" (forgive my lack of english vocabulary) ! As well as they use it for neck reinforcement on the back. They used to do it with rosewood, as it was the fingerboard wood as well.

I may be wrong though!!

The previous Squier CV, VM and Fender MIM basses have a black plastic insert.

The stripe down the back is the skunk strip, to cover the route for the truss rod.

I have one of the mid priced Jackson Soloist made in Indonesia. Only thing next up in the line is US made. Its a killer guitar. I'd dare say its my best player between my SG,Les Paul and Strat. Theyre made in Mexico along with the Charvels now. I bought the Charvel first and sent it back because the fret ends were the worst I ever experienced EVER and exchanged it for the Jackson. Wasnt crazy about the headstock but oh well.
