Was the CV P bass the same bad quality as the J? I am thinking about getting one but if it's that bad I don't think so. Also the Fender Player series P isn't getting a good reception either.

The guy was watching me, I asked for the video, he seemed a bit "hmm, what for??" but let me. But there was people waiting for him and for tryouts. I didn't bother too much. Seriously I don't care if they are better models in the rest of the World. I'm not traveling for a 400 bucks bass. Screw that. These new CV are bad, period.
No, the new CV basses aren’t bad. I owned a very nice CV 60s Jazz and the only reason I sold it was because I just can’t get used to skinny Jazz necks and it weighed a bit more than I prefer. I was able to replace it with a cheap $70 Jazz with a big beefy neck and 1.7” nut width that weighs less than 8 pounds. If not for finding that bass, I’d still have the CV.

Agreed. To say that the entire line is “bad, period” is simply not true. I’ve played about 15 of them now, including the one I purchased and gig with, along with the two dogs I review-blasted earlier in this thread. There have been a few bad ones, and a few great ones, but the majority were decent enough to still be a great bang for the buck. In other words, if you want something better you’re going to have to pay for it. Price points exist for a reason, and the CV basses still offer a better instrument than anyone should feel entitled to for $350.Ah ok. No one would expect to travel to find a nice CV but I honestly think the US might have gotten better stock. I still want to see a “dog” ‘19 CV. If someone out there has some pics please show us. Saying that the new CV’s are bad period is pretty general. Mine is nice I think. I shared pics of it. The PU spacing is even..I measured. Neck feels good, electronics work, truss works, finish and wood look good....I like it.

I’m not questioning your personal experience... I’m disagreeing with what one should expect from a $350Well, as they say "to each their own". I'm not paying for a Classic Vibe that just has the name. It supposed to be top notch, not "randomly good, try another country". 3 basses, all had major issues. My stats are enoughenjoy what you have, hopefully I won't be reading too much "yeah I should have not buy this Squier"

Mass produced budget instrument.
As far as “my stats are enough” goes, well sorry, but three is pretty small number. I played 3 bad ones. I also played 3 great ones... plus about 10 more that were all pretty good but not great. Thousands have been produced, and you’ve tried three. Mathematical probability is simply not on your side here.
My only issue with your post was the “they’re all bad, PERIOD” statement. It’s simply not true. However I do understand your frustration and reluctance to keep giving them a chance. I just put an EBMM Stingray on layaway because it absolutely DESTROYS my Squier... But my Squier was $250
For those unhappy with the quality saying they are the new VMs, I somewhat agree and mentioned this months ago after playing them at NAMM. in Squiers defense, they did lower the price from $399 to $349. So these are priced closer to the VM line.
I also experienced this issue with the headstock logos. I’ll have to check if I posted pics in my review. Basically one was greenish grey and blurry... the other was perfect.Of course at the NAMM they wouldn't bring models with defects and stuff, that was easy to find them good. Soundwise they're good anyway; I'm complaining over finishing and overall quality. I will go back to the store and snap a shot of the Precision headstock. The green logo at the headstock is a joke

What a fantastic looking bass. Where did you buy it ?Just picked this up yesterday. Everything is good on it except some fret buzz on the 9th fret of the A string that needs to be addressed. I think the stock pickup is pretty good but I’ve got a Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound from another one of my basses I’m going to put into it. I had a MIM Players P bass too, this CV is just as good. MIM quality for half the price.

Which Sam Ash? I work at the one in San Antonio. We have a bunch of the white/tort P’s but I haven’t received a single daphne blue j bass yet.A local Sam Ash had one in stock. GC/MF won't have them back in stock until September apparently and a sales rep at Sweetwater told me October before they get any white ones. I don't know if they are just super popular or they just aren't making that many in white.
