The effect is better when you don't look it too near. I agree that it's not a great relicing but it's my first (and probably the last !) and I prefer my bass much more looking like this

It's yours and that's all that matters. I think it looks pretty cool.

I can understand that you think to turn on relic. The sonic blue is a nice color and you can get some outstanding results in relic on this color

Mr DarkHorse is an expert at relicing, you however, are not. It just looks like it's been hit with a wrench and dragged round the block.

I like relics that don't look dirty. When they start adding stuff that makes it look grungy, then forget it.
I managed to snag one of these off of the 'bay. The Squiers I have handled so far have pleasantly surprised me with their quality and value. The CV also has a plastic nut like the VM Jag I previously invested in but this one doesn't bind and the action is correct. This is my first basswood-bodied instrument and weighs 9lbs, 2oz. I do like me some sonic blue!
For additional visual stimulation, I fitted it with a (WD stock precision) black abalone pickguard. I only had to move one screw hole. The stock pickup is very good, but I swapped it out for one of Jason Lollar's to satisfy my curious ears. This is a NICE sounding (& playing!) precision bass and I'm a happy camper.

Hey guys! So I've heard all the buzz about the CVs lately and I finally went up to a local shop and tried one out. Let me say, I've never really enjoyed playing a P bass before (probably due to shoddy setups and what not) but I LOVED the 60s CV! It's definitely made my list of basses I plan to own in the (hopefully) near future!
But I had a question. I love the look of the bridge cover on old Fenders, but I'm partial to the Jazz cover that has the F on it. I've done a little research and it seems like the HM bridges on the CV series may take up more space or something? Essentially, if I bought a 60s P bass CV, would a lettered Jazz bridge cover (like Invalid Link Removed) fit?
