Squier Classic Vibe Club (Part 2)

Picked up the Squier bridge cover on ebay because I like how they look. The TI-Flats make it sound and play great. Now it also looks great. I LOVE this bass. Still can't believe how great these basses are.

I threw this pic up in the tweaked Squier thread, too, but here's my 1.5 CV Jazz basses. The natural blonde VM body has a CV neck on it and it's AWESOME! More work to do there, and some more to do on the stock CV, too. I've gotta say that the black pearl pg just transforms the look of the instrument, though. To my eye it just dresses it up with an extra dab of class.

Here's a pic of my Squier CV 60's P Bass....

I'm a Jazz Bass guy 1st, 2nd and 3rd but had a little GAS and was curious about a P bass so i picked up the CV...FANTASTIC buy for the $$$..

Bassagent...lovin it! Tell me do you get much noise/hum from the PU?
Also do you get much difference in volume between strings with the level PU ? Tried one the other day and there was a noticeable difference between strings volume, but could have just been a poor set up in the shop

Both do not occur in this instrument... I've just recorded a track for a friend of mine on this bass and there's no hum. Nothing. There also seems to be nearly no volume difference between the strings

Bassagent, you still playing with those PU covers on or do they get in the way?

It depends. I made the video this afternoon and had just taken the covers of, mainly because I was also recording a track with a pick, and the covers get in the way then. Otherwise: no problemo.

Loving it. Bright and fat; kinda like Ash. Treat it right and you won't need to worry about it denting (It's as soft if not softER than Basswood)

So, is the "finish" any thinner than other Squier offerings?

I mean, is this thing coated in a nice thick coat of poly-whatever?

Just keep the bass in a stand when you take a break at rehearsals or gigs, and leave it in the case when you're not using it. BAM, no ding issue.

I think every Squier is finished in a thick layer of finish. Them-a don't do dem nitro finish man.

And still: who cares about dings and scratches on a bass? The first scratch is the worst but after that? It's an object that gets used. That causes damage. Live with it

I love my CVP more and more everyday. I finally found a bass that has inspired me to become a better bassist! And it was a lot cheaper than the Warwicks and Music Mans I've tried before.
