Squier Classic Vibe Club (Part 2)

Ok I finally joined the classic vibe ranks. I played one of these J's in-store a couple years ago and absolutely loved the feel of it. I found a great deal on ebay, this guy was listed by a store out of Nashville as a "factory 2nd" (there is a miniscule paint chip, almost undetectable). They shipped it free, included a hard shell case, and even did an awesome set up on it before sending it out. Not bad for $280!
I could not be happier, this thing is a beast all around. It really reminds me of the japanese fenders I love so much. The rumors are true!

I made this while I was allegedly doing something else so ignore my uber awesome gimp abilities, I relocated the thumbrest to where it is most likely to get some use, and painted the whole pickguard gold, I guess IRL the golden shine will give it a more appealing look, plus the white pup, don't know if I should try it with the pickup covers but I think it looks good already and this is the look I'm looking for (kinda)
I really like it...reminds me of a summer sunset sky , blue, with some white clouds , and golden rays of sunshine etc..

I might as well go for it since I'm not spending on the pickup anymore :smug:

also I've never seen a bass like this, or in those colors anyway, I bet It would be a little "more" original

Why spend over $400 when you can get a decent instrument in a Squier. Still smoking on it but still down to 60sP or VM Jazz. But wait the Freeman is one I haven't considered. Decisions, decisions.

First you need to decide between a P and a J. I don't have to tell you that they're totally different. As soon as you know which one you want, go to a shop and pick the one bass that feels and sounds best.

If you can't decide, take a J and a P. Nothing wrong with that.;):D

So, I took the CV60's J to a full band gig, having heretofore only used it for acoustic trio work. I played it through my VT Bass Deluxe, into my amp. RAWR!!! I was very impressed, my tone just ruled, nay, it dominated. All eyes were on singerbabe (she goes to eleven), but the shakin' booty on the floor was all that I needed to know. Pics and vid in the notorious Chicks at Shows thread. Mistah J now has me considering the liquidation of my VM Squier Jag, which is also great-playing and sounding, but never even left the stand, at this gig.

Dang, Matt Freemans becoming more popular than ever!
I know I love mine!
And with that pickup I installed it sings!

And I was thinking...I just bought a short scale VM jaguar...and it got me thinking about stringing the shorty with flats and the Matt freeman with rounds....but I can't seem to get over the sound of the matt with flats! It rocks!!!!!
