not my experience with the 1505 at all.

maybe you're just used to the heavy polyurethane coating on most Squiers.

i, for one, can't wait to sand that crap off.

i love the feel of the EHB 1505 neck and stainless frets.

and the tone is killer! even passive!

I been own mik 2010 SR705 with us Bart PW pup and 3band NTMB preamp, this 1505ms sound hollow and sustain decay are very different to solid body. The neck feel smoother and slick than this EHB.

I love poly coat myself, include the Vintera 50s P. Never has sticky issue.

I'm free...... Sold the problematic Indo CV50P just now along with Lindy split 51 pup. The main issue is the fret wire , even I fix and level them, but, there are few fret will shown they raise up maybe after few weeks without notice. I give up !!!!
Now put my eyes on Bacchus or G&L tribute.

I also have some concerns with the neck on my CV70's Precision Bass (I somehow feel the neck a little bit "soft" in material, also it was hard to set up to a very low action which I prefer - and could achieve on my Ibanez and Yamaha basses) so I checked all possible Fender aftermarket necks for replacement. But as the original CV70's bass look is so great with the original neck, also the play ability is much better than on the MIM Precision Basses due to the thin neck, I decided to keep the neck at the moment. Am Pro II neck and that price level is not something I wish to spend, but a good Player neck could be a good option.

But. Interestingly when I visited a local guitar shop to check out the Fender necks on all price level basses, the shop assistant told me to keep the CV70's and not buying a MIM Precision bass as (even the Indo made) CV basses are far better to play and are much cheaper.

At least I still have the option to buy a new neck though if I would see warp or loosen frets or issues like this after some time.

I just bought a 2013 white Squier Jazz. I guess it's a 60s CV. It has a curved rosewood board and brass saddles, also very low and narrow frets. I have to say it's a better instrument than the L series, the late 70s and the '90s USA Jazz basses I have owned in past decades. With a good setup and sanding down the gloss on the back of the neck, it's darn near perfect. I installed a set of USA Hipshot Ultralite tuners and now it balances perfectly. It's a keeper.

My previous china CV60P has solid stable neck , the neck profile has great comfortable for me.
You are not the one who complain Indo CV70P has soft neck, some CV J owner also face same issue especially they play low action.

My current cheapo Bacchus BJB1RSM which has roasted maple neck, provide me zero neck stability issue worry. Those Cort GB74JJ, Arona IV and Action DLX V that using Canadian Hard Maple neck also not solid enough, tiny temperature/humid change just shown their banana effect !!!

I try the latest 40th Vintage P bass, I feel the neck profile has no difference to CV70P , both make from indo Samick factory but this one with previous 2019 MIM player price range. Is it worth ?

The current quality issue on Indo CV bass just make the previous china CV bass shine. 2008 bass play as great /on pair , even better than 2019 MIM Player bass.

I bought a red Vintera 50 P to fill the blank of my previous fiesta red CIC CV60P. Because I love true vintage fret, not those bull shxt vintage tall fret ! That is just slim version of medium jumbo fret. I believe FMIC choose vintage tall fret because they has room for re-fret if new bass has uneven fret issue. Unlike true vintage fret, they need precise fret wire assembly work from factory.

1099 Vs 299 ? Yes, price are different, but no quality build different.

Previous CIC CV line quality make me take it as a guide in bass purchase. Price and quality.

2 Mim player I own in past has quality issue too.

So far, I only found Bacchus and Yamaha are serious on their product QC from low to high price.

I am weary of the quality of Squier, and even MIM, necks. I have two older Indo-made VM necks, and one has turned to $hire while the other is awesome. I have seen quite a few MIM necks bow and twist within a short few months…

I have decided to totally swear-off buying Squier products….to a point.
The VM neck that I have which has turned to crap, I bought as a complete bass in 2014. The other one that is awesome, I bought as a brand-new take-apart neck only in 2016.

I wound up getting a Warmoth fretless neck for the VM, along with a slew of other upgrades…the only thing left that is Squier is the body:

But I also bought a 2022 CV 70s Jazz V body and bought a Warmoth fretted neck, along with a bunch of parts I have amassed over the course of 10 years or so.

this is what I meant by not buying Squier to a point…I’ll buy their bare bodies…

So now I have Twins, one of which is 1/2 of a CV, which gives me the right to post here…:

My CV 50s I just purchased and posted recently has no neck or fret issues at all yet . I play pretty low action and have no issues at all with fret buzz when I changed strings and set it up to my liking. I must be lucky that I got a good one , according to its factory inspection tag it was built and finished inspections in Jan 2021 .
I ordered mine from Sweetwater and am happy that I got a good one from what I’m hearing .

Here is the easy way to inspect fret work quality from factory on indo CV bass you guys bought new.

Set the neck relief .010 or .012 (check point 7th fret), the 9.5 radius standard.

After that, set and check the action on 17th fret,.
1.8mm on E ,
1.7mm on A ,
1.6mm on D and
1.5mm on G.

With stock string , if no single fret buzz on entire fret across the fret board with medium plucking finger, congratulations, you bass has no uneven fret issue from factory. But no guarantee it will happen on another day, weeks or months..... You know, the neck wood on current Indo CV just SOFT.....

If seller provide return policy, I highly recommend return the bass if fret issue found. If Sweetwater able give you a plek without charge, sure you still can give the CV bass another chance.

Hope my suggest do help for someone around here.

I also found they are few white CV60P from china factory on sweet water list, hopefully the QC has improve !!

I love CV bass and always share lot positive opinion here , but just not current Indo made one.

So far so good with my Indo 70s J neck. It's one of the first 2020 models (serial # is under 400!), and despite the frets initially needing a bit of levelling right out of the box to get the neck really fast (that can happen), they haven't sprouted, or moved in any way. And the neck itself is staying straight and true (4/64" at the 17th fret), despite living in a climate that swings wildly from hot to cold. It needs the small seasonal tweaks, but that is it.

I'll still be keeping an eye on it for the next year or two, but the longer it stays like this, the longer I'm convinced I got away with a good one. Fingers are crossed!

Your action nail the Fender spec,. 2.4mm to 2.0mm. Medium action for me.

The action on CV50P after fret leveling set 1.85mm from E to 1.5mm on G with LTF4A load. Everything look fine and fret work well just for few weeks, after that fret issue appear again.

No such issue on my CIC CV60P with Ti flat with same action.

Fralin split 51 pup on CV50P just sound great to my ear.

Yeah that’s the action that works perfect for me . I tend to get heavy handed at times finger style . At times when it is called for I also play with a 1.5 mm pick for the attack .

I would assume its the same . . . my 14 CV P has a high mass bridge with brass barrel saddles. String spacing is 20mm and the hole pattern is not quite standard.

Yes, those CIC CV bass has brass saddle himass bridge with 20mm string spacing.

20mm string spacing work well align to magnet pole piece especially on both 50P and 60J.

My current Vintera 50P with Vintage bridge also set 20mm to get well align to pickups pole piece. Lot vintage Fender bass owner also did that way too.

The last batch of CIC CV70P using bend bridge which has 19mm string spacing, both E and G string are just off a bit on pickups .

I been swap the bridge on indo CV50P to 19mm single slot saddle bridge, damn, both E and G string just not stay above the magnet pole piece.

Very glad the pine body is not super soft like the China made CV50's were.
The neck has no fret issues and is stable.
The fit and finish is very good all over it.
The bridge is standard Fender five screw mount and the threaded saddles allow the strings to be set exactly over the pole pieces.
Nothing had to be done to make it work well, but I decided to change the pickguard and swap in a Duncan Stinger Stacked pickup.
I have the string height at .070 at the 17th fret, I had it at .060 and it worked fine as well.
The only negative to this bass is the weight is a little over 9 pounds, but the bass doesn't neck dive!
I would guess that the 51P and 54P Fenders were also not real light.

I recall only the lake placid blue CV50P has basswood body, after that,both butter scotch and white blonde has Pine body.
Here is my previous CIC CV50P.

I sold it because she weight 10.5lbs ! Hard to find the one under 9lbs.
