I been mention before, the current Indo CV bass just a rebranded vintage modified with different hardware.

I also disagree.
I have a 2010 VM Precision Bass TB ('72 Tele Bass reissue) that has a neck that is completely different from the neck on my 2019 CV 50's Precision Bass (also Tele headstock shape).
They are both supposed to be the old Fender Bass neck with the Tele headstock, neither is the same as that neck was.
Between the two, the neck profile is completely different, the frets are different, very different neck finish thickness, and different neck color tint, on has nicely rolled fretboard edges, the other not so much.
One body is basswood with a thin ash veneer, the other is a two piece pine body.
Clearly these came from different factories, they have not much in common.
I do like both basses and I do think they are both well made for the price.

I never play cortex Tele VM bass so I have no comments. But, all Squier bass either CIC or Indo VM/CV have slightly roll fretboard edge compare to Fender Mim STD and player. No fresh news at all .

If compare " well made for the price," the USD 299 Cic CV are clearly the winner.
For USD 400 price tag, I suggest you try the Bacchus BJB1RSM or BPB1R if you able find them, both have rewrite the legendary of CIC CV line ny view with less than USD 300.
Game changer and Squier killer.

I am almost positive this is the P/N for the tuners on the early CV 50's bass 0074937000 I don't think fender sells them any longer but I have seen OEM tuners for 50's CV's with this part# on Ebay/Reverb. At least it's a place to start. Or Hipshot HB-1? GL!

I also mentioned this in earlier post, because the stock tuning machines on Indo CV 50P just poor quality and I prefer the look/longer shaft on CIC CV bass.

Several years ago, I been found lot CIC CV parts via taobao.com. They provide both nickel and chrome finished.
But I dint order one for myself because those hardware on CIC CV bass just work excellent, tough and lasting.
I only bought the 20mm string spacing himass bridge for my customer jazz bass modified order.

I’m not speaking for everyone in this thread but the trash talking of Indo Squier’s is kinda getting old . Like all production instruments I am sure there are lemons . Mine is excellent . Also I am sure Bacchus basses are cool and all , maybe start a new thread about them for those interested ? This is a Squier CV thread and if you dislike them so much and no longer own one … move on ? The bashing is getting annoyingly old . Oh there is a ignore button that works ( click ).

All CV bass owner can share their opinion here, either pro or con. Don't be hero dude.

If you are die hard Indo CV bass fans, you can open new thread . This CV forum are actually base from CIC model, I been own few CIC CV bass and own Indo CV bass, sure I can post my opinion. Why you so selfish?

The way I think the more info the better, to your point I don't think you have to "currently" own one to have an opinion on a particular instrument or piece of gear.

I have Indo's, VM's and I have CIC's and play them all but in my experience I would be willing to trade any of my Indo's for your "Crafted in China" CV's hit me up.

I find the fit and finish lacking a bit on the Indo made (as nice as they are) and none of my Indo necks are as well made (Indian Laurel aside) IME. Just sayin.

I compare both CIC and Indo CV, and share personal opinion here just because those CIC CV are so great on build quality since they launch in 2008 along with low price tag - USD 299.

Sure there are some owner get a lemon too, but most the old CIC CV member here are satisfied and proud with them.

I been compare the CIC CV bass to my 2007 fender Mim bass too, the CIC CV bass just smoke it.
Until I own 2 2019 Fender player bass, I just found they able get match their quality to CIC CV bass. Is it funny that Fender need spend 11years to improve their mim stuff to match the CIC CV bass .

I own a new 2022 Vintera 50 P couple months ago, on my hand, no difference in build quality compare to my previous wonderful CIC CV60P which I broke the truss rod myself many years ago. But huge gap on price tag!!!

Since the Vintera P bring me back the CIC Squier memory ,real vintage fret feel and quality, I let go the Indo CV50P.

In earlier day we can share the CIC CV bass con here, like weight issue , hardware issue, himass bridge not allow low action setup.....blah blah blah.... Without problems. But those new Indo CV bass owner can't accept the con like I share, only accept positive thing and share praising thing here. You get a great Indo bass, is your matter; meanwhile I can share when I get a lemon.

So, I still keep reply and post here, especially when I see you guys share the CIC CV bass.
This CV forum are base on CIC CV bass, hopefully those Indo CV die hard fan respect this wonderful and valuable information forum.

I am not a fan of the Cortex Indo product, I think Samick is making the better Squiers.
I bought one of the MIM Player Series Jazz necks (to put on a mahogany body I had sitting here) and was surprised how much they did not roll the fretboard edges.
My CV 50's neck has nicely rolled fretboard edges.
My two Yamaha Attitude basses have great necks, fretboard edges feel perfect, the whole neck feels great. Widest necks (1 11/16" nut width) I have, and still the most comfortable.
My old USA Peavey Fury/Foundation/Patriot basses were my favorite necks until I got these two 1990/1991 Yamaha Attitudes.
Another TB member told me the Bacchus were great basses for the money, nice to hear they are making a great bass for the money.

I was kicking around the idea of getting my hands on a CV60s split-coil pickup and turning my CV60s Jazz into a Classic Vibe P/J Jazz. Of course, I'd make sure it had the same placement of the Fender Reggie Hamilton Jazz, in light of my success the first time around.

The two CV60s Jazzes I've owned never stuck around long enough for me to commit that level of attention and resources to them. Not because I didn't like them. Far from it. They just got caught up in my GAS-fueled search for "the next, best thing".

I have neck's, I have plenty of hardware and may indeed have to look into a loaded CV J body and order a Mark Hoppus pick guard.

Are you planning on going "reverse-P" on the split-coil? If not, or unless you're gunning for an integrated control plate, I'd strongly recommend using a Reggie Hamilton guard as a template.

I am lazy to talk about anything on those Indo CV bass , will only chit chat on CIC CV.

All CIC CV bass nice rolled fretboard edge since 2008, not a surprise thing for us as old owner here. Just the player bass has stupid sharp fretboard edge. The 2007 Mim std bass still has slightly rolled edge.
Before I bought the Vintera p, there are few TB owner already mentioned she has same issue. Lucky me the one I bought has semi-rolled edge. But the latest player plus has equal rolled edge as Am Pro ll.

Ok, recheck my post, no single word on Indo CV. Haha....
