I missed this post when reading through the recent pages of this thread. Since you have the version of the CV 60s P bass manufactured in China: how would you say the fingerboard edges are in terms of being rolled (or not at all)? Yahboy's post #2849 has a nice graphic that I cut and pasted below to better depict what I'm referring to. Also, how do the fingerboard edges compare to one another amongst your trio of CV basses?
I have no idea what others do but I use GHS Pressurewounds on my Jazz Basses and swapped out the stock set for those. I believe the stock set are D'Addario round wounds.
They’re not D’Addarios, the green ball end is too light to be D’addario. It’s these strings that come stock in all Squier basses.
I'd assume the same strings on new Fenders as well? After a lot of back and forth between the CIC CV P and a Player P I pulled the trigger on the Player P (white/maple - goes great with my three Squiers) and was wondering the same thing, what strings came on it. So far they seem like perfectly good strings, no hurry to change them out.
The CV ‘60s Precision and CV Jaguar P/J I recently bought both came with D’Addario round wounds. I didn’t care for the ergonomics of the Jaguar and but it on the local Craigslist and ordered the Precision which I will eventually ad a Jazz bridge pickup to. It immediately got a set of Thomastik Infeld flats.
Guess I stand corrected, thought they were D’Addario. Wasn’t aware of the Fender offering with similar color ball ends
Sorry I don't. I bought the Jazz body loaded without a neck, and bought the P bass neck separately.
Fender 7250m are nice, but am not sure these are the same as in the Squier. In two recent new instruments, one a Vintera P, and the other a 40th Anniversary Squier, both sets felt different. Maybe psychological (I can admit to that), but I preferred the 7250m (as explicitly stated by Fender on the specs) than the generic 45-105 nickels on the Squier (the specs just state "nickel plated 45-105".) The feel is looser, and sound slightly tinnier on the Squier stock strings. Not terrible, but the 7250m felt and sounded better to me, unplugged.
Since no A-B comparison was made, I will admit to it possibly being my mind playing games on me due to the pricing expectations. I switched the Vintera's stock 7250m to an older bass of mine, and they were great there too. These new Squier ones will be switched soon for a Sheehan Rotosound set-any of you can have them if you wish. What can be confusing is that Fender labels the Squier as generics, rather than their own (D'Addario made) brand, which they do for the Fender basses.

Well they are made by D’Addario but they are made for Fender to their specifications.
I don’t change them unless I plan on using flats or I am looking for something different feel/tone wise. Fender 7250’s are what come stock on all Fender and Squier basses.
Not sure if this club gives numbers, but I'm in! As mentioned before, CV70s Jazz with CV70s P neck, Omega bridge, Grover tuners, gold PG, rounds. And CV50s P bass with CV70's P neck, wearing half rounds.
Normally a Rickenbacker guy, secretly "Jazz curious" but prefer a beefier neck. Also in love with black binding and block inlays so one thing led to another....

I went with a Hipshot Kickass bridge, Lindy Fralin pickups, and recently had all the electronics swapped out, as I could see the input jack was starting to get funny. Added a push-pull for series/parallel switching as well. Didn't swap the pickguard, but did add a little image of a certain football manager carrying a certain Premier League trophy. Yay Sportsball! Lol
Oh, and I removed the stock knobs straight away, and put on the ones that came off my old Rickenbacker. Much nicer, IMHO

If they're not D'Addario then it's quite possible D'Addario makes them for Fender because they sure look and feel the same as similar set of D'Addarios. I have 3 or 4 sets of them sitting in a drawer in the closet of my gear room.
Well y'all, after debating forever on saving, getting a new jazz in a tort color I like or the P-bass. I just bought the CV 60 vibe with the crazy deals going on! I been seeing alot of people selling them and people buying them. Can't wait to share pics!
Hi, I just had the opportunity to meet for the first time in my studio with the cool CV60S P Bass. As there were also several different Pbass pickups nearby, I decided to spend some time and try them all in Squier CV60S Pbass.
My impressions are fantastic, especially with the playability and feel of the instrument.

After listening to it, I could easily be happy with either the Bill Lawrence P-46 or the Fender Custom Shop '62s.
