Would love to hear how it sounds compared to the stock PU? How is it for mids?

Tons of mids!!

Also just put fresh strings on it, Ernie Ball Cobalts 50-105 set. It sounds... kind of like a buzzsaw. :)

It def. has more mids, but I'm not sure if I like it yet, haven't gotten used to it yet. It def. doesn't sound like a nice mellow "P" any more; thats for sure.

Happy to provide sound clips; not sure what the preferred way to record them would be though? Suggestions?

Garage Band? Audacity?

Hey guys! I've got a 50's CV P-bass in Lake Placid Blue, and with flats the tone is outstanding! Totally jealous of the owners of the Sonic Blue 60's CV p-basses, but my 50's is still pretty rockin'.

You're kidding right? Your bass is awesome! Those of us that have the Sonic Blue want what you have- we're in the same boat! Enjoy that fat necked beauty!

To each his/her own. For a blue colored bass I prefer my sonic blue CV60 (but blue isn't my favorite color). Overall I like butterscotch & black of my 51ri or arctic white & tort of my MIM P a little better. YMMV

Miked cab would be best.

I have a love hate relationship with my SCPB-3

It is "def" not mellow. Almost too powerful. I plug it into the -6dB pad

Currently I've got dadd XL balanced set with the pup 5mm below the bottom of the strings when fretted at 12 (!)

Currently in love again - and the balanced set is a darned fine set.

Let's hear it! It's beautiful!

Wow! That really sounds great. I might have to do that too.

That's killer. I'd love to hear that one.

Sorry it took me so long, but we finally finished releasing our [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]! :hyper:
The pickup selection was like this:
  • Huracan - Quarter Pound SCPB
  • Que Hacer - Will Power
  • Mitad - Both
  • Moderno - Both
As you can tell I use distortion and fuzz rather a lot, but I blended some clean signal in there, I'm sure you'll be able to hear it :p
