if anyone has an extra neck, preferably from the 60's P, I would like to buy it. I also posted in the Wanted section. I just got a 50's P in LPB and a 60's P loaded body, so I only need the neck to complete the sisters 
On board with a local TB find! A TB brother found this at a Best Buy and then decided he'd rather have cash. Works for me! Crappy cell phone pics. I had an American Standard mint guard lying around and found that the screw holes line up perfectly; the notch is a minor complication that I can live with. Deciding if I want to drill to put the tug bar on. GHS Precision flats. Wow.
See photos above. Last night I plugged in the NOS Squier CV Precision to my small tube amp and let fly. Really nice tone and fun to play. A little tweaking of the setup and this should be a great bass. A/B'ed with an MIA Fender. Not a whole lotta difference there to my ears. The Bass Whisperer video is right on!
One pot is a little scratchy. I'll probably replace the tone circuit at some point for added robustness. Pickups sound great.
My rosewood is a little wonky--the grain runs slightly diagonal--I guess that just adds character 'cuz it sounds and feels fine. You gotta love that Sonic Blue. It looks especially sweet with the mint guard. Keeper, and quite the bargain.

Looking good w/ the mint, ShowLow! The Sonic Blue on the CV P is a really nice aged, faded, subtly yellow-greened tint. I didn't get any pics, but my MIJ '69 Mustang RI next to it looked damn near dayglow.
This is Maybe a dumb question, but I have yet to own one and haven't seen one on the shelf to see for myself. Ate the bodies on the CV P's a bit smaller?

I love the necks on the CV's. They're really user friendly. The 60's J bass neck I have on my 60's P bass is one of the nicest necks I've played, of any bass I've had. The VM's are nice, but not quite up to the CV's in quality, IMO.
Just picked up some parts. Gonna try my hand at replacing the tone circuit. Wish me luck. Cover me, I'm going in!
